- Sheila53 contributionsPretty Fun ExperienceI had an amazing time at Cathedral Ridge Winery in Oregon! The setting is absolutely beautiful in the stunning Columbia Gorge region. The winery offers a variety of delicious wines, including big, bold reds and unique blends, making the tasting experience diverse and enjoyable. The atmosphere at Cathedral Ridge is both welcoming and fun. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The tasting room itself is charming, and there’s also a lovely outdoor seating area where you can enjoy the picturesque views while sipping on your favorite wine. One of the highlights of my visit was getting to see the winemaking process up close. It was fascinating to learn about the traditional techniques they use and to witness firsthand how they craft their wines. The opportunity to understand the effort and passion that goes into each bottle made the tasting experience even more special. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Cathedral Ridge Winery. It's a fantastic place to relax, taste some exceptional wines, and enjoy the beautiful Oregon scenery.Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten May 27, 2024

- Travelin_Fools12203 contributionsGo for the views! This is an absolutely beautiful setting! Wine is fine, as there is something for everyone. Go for the view not the wine. We arrived just after 5 not knowing the last hour was bottle service only. The first two hostesses who attempted to greet us were a tad rude and stuffy. The third who came out was absolutely lovely and talked to us about our preferred flavor profiles and let us taste a bunch. We decided on two bottles and enjoyed the view and snacks that we brought.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 24, 2024

This winery prides themselves in offering 26 or 27 different wines the 7 or 8 we tried were average. Also after the first wine we had, our server came over and asked is what we thought and we said honestly we didn't like it. Now, at most places where I've said that they asked what we like and try to please us. In this case our server said To Our Face I Guess You are going to be difficult. Went downhill quickly after that. Never have i been told i am difficult just for not liking their wine

After a day of hiking to waterfalls we decided to drive to Hood River and stopped at this winery. What a pleasant surprise. The signage we saw said "Bold Reds" and we were not disappointed. Because the tasting fee was a little pricey, we asked if we could sample a couple wines before we bought a glass/bottle. They were very accommodating. My husband and I each had 3 different samples and then we purchased our bottle. The outside patio area is very relaxing although it was a little windy that day, so we went back inside. There was no rushing us. The server was very helpful and knowledgeable. She even offered a taste of reserve wine when we were finished. I would highly recommend stopping here for a taste.

We had a terrific experience at Cathedral ridge. We called the day before and made a reservation and were glad we did because it was a busy weekend afternoon. Exceptional service. Our server was fun, engaging and very knowledgable (Anna). We loved the Large Selection of wines available for the tasting. The reserves were the best. Enjoyed the Malbec, Zinfandels and Cabernet the best! Lovely setting on the patio. Generous tasting of 6 wines (4 regulars and 2 reserves) for $20 and a deduction off the tasting for each wine purchase. Our favorite of all the vineyards we visited over the weekend.

I was visiting from Australia and had been to abour 10 wineries over a couple of weeks. This was my last visit and the best. The wonery itself is authentic and overlooks some wine. The $20 tasting was better value than most, with a large range of quality wines to choose, including shiraz, grenache and cab sauv, as well as the usual pinot noir, chardonnay etc. DeAnna was a fabulous server- very friendly and knowledgeable. Joined this club because I love their wine. They charged my account but sent my order to the wrong address. TWICE!! Was told that once the shipment leaves their company they "Have no control over the delivery". out $170 and NOTHING to show for it. Scam.

Their website said reservations were required, but when we got there, a sign said, “reservations appreciated.” I just don’t like the stress of having to be on time if we really didn’t have to. The tasting was okay. Our server was nice enough, but I can’t say anything was over the top. We did not purchase any wine as we are in a couple of wine clubs and nothing surpassed what we already subscribe to. That said, wine is such a personal preference, so don’t try it on my taste. The place was clean. Views were okay.

We had a wonderful afternoon at this terrific winery. We are a fan of reds, and they did not disappoint. You can customize your flight, but you really should listen to the excellent staff and their recommendations. Young Marian was our guide and shared information of not only our selections, but of the area as well. A visit here would not be a wasted afternoon. They have a well appointed tasting room, manage the visits well, and offer an outdoor seating area to enjoy a glass and picnic afterwards.

We had a real nice standard tasting. We tasted some good red wines. The staff was friendly and engaging. We would likely come back again. We sat outside after tasting to enjoy the beautiful setting. Recommended.
