My friends and I visited the Hood River winery last fall. We enjoyed tasting the wines, although it was more reds and I like white. The gal who served us the tastings was nice and even brought us some grapes to try. I ordered a malbec for my husband and was given a Halbtrocken, which is some kind of blush I read. My husband wouldn't open it as he does not like blush wines, and I don't either. It was not cheap and now it just sits in our wine holder for decoration LOL Not sure what happened there, but would stop by again for a tasting with my husband and see if he likes the malbec when we go through this area as it is a beautiful spot with some friendly staff and good wines.

After a day of hiking to waterfalls we decided to drive to Hood River and stopped at this winery. What a pleasant surprise. The signage we saw said "Bold Reds" and we were not disappointed. Because the tasting fee was a little pricey, we asked if we could sample a couple wines before we bought a glass/bottle. They were very accommodating. My husband and I each had 3 different samples and then we purchased our bottle. The outside patio area is very relaxing although it was a little windy that day, so we went back inside. There was no rushing us. The server was very helpful and knowledgeable. She even offered a taste of reserve wine when we were finished. I would highly recommend stopping here for a taste.

We had a terrific experience at Cathedral ridge. We called the day before and made a reservation and were glad we did because it was a busy weekend afternoon. Exceptional service. Our server was fun, engaging and very knowledgable (Anna). We loved the Large Selection of wines available for the tasting. The reserves were the best. Enjoyed the Malbec, Zinfandels and Cabernet the best! Lovely setting on the patio. Generous tasting of 6 wines (4 regulars and 2 reserves) for $20 and a deduction off the tasting for each wine purchase. Our favorite of all the vineyards we visited over the weekend.

This winery prides themselves in offering 26 or 27 different wines the 7 or 8 we tried were average. Also after the first wine we had, our server came over and asked is what we thought and we said honestly we didn't like it. Now, at most places where I've said that they asked what we like and try to please us. In this case our server said To Our Face I Guess You are going to be difficult. Went downhill quickly after that. Never have i been told i am difficult just for not liking their wine

The winery is placed on a beautiful garden where you have the choice to sit outside or inside. We sat outside to enjoy some of the sun and take in the view. I wish they had umbrellas to provide shade so I could have relaxed a bit more. The wines were all a good quality, but I didn't end up purchasing as I was too hot and uncomfortable. The only wine I did enjoy was the Pinot Noir as it was lighter and more fruit forward. Next time I go I'd love to come during a cooler time and sit inside where I'm able to enjoy myself and relax a bit more. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

Winter time in Hood River can get sketchy, but it was a perfect day to load up our family and hit a barrel tasting at the winery. We are always looking for fun things to do when the kids come home for the holidays and this one was about the best we have done yet. The wines are amazing and the staff are fun and engaging. You can tell they like what they do and just aren't there to get a pay check.
The grounds are beautiful and we are looking forward to coming back in the summer months to enjoy them. Highly recommend this place.

Joined this club because I love their wine. They charged my account but sent my order to the wrong address. TWICE!! Was told that once the shipment leaves their company they "Have no control over the delivery". out $170 and NOTHING to show for it. Scam.

We had a wonderful afternoon at this terrific winery. We are a fan of reds, and they did not disappoint. You can customize your flight, but you really should listen to the excellent staff and their recommendations. Young Marian was our guide and shared information of not only our selections, but of the area as well. A visit here would not be a wasted afternoon. They have a well appointed tasting room, manage the visits well, and offer an outdoor seating area to enjoy a glass and picnic afterwards.

We had a real nice standard tasting. We tasted some good red wines. The staff was friendly and engaging. We would likely come back again. We sat outside after tasting to enjoy the beautiful setting. Recommended.

When we go wine tasting at Hood River we usually go here and to Marchesi where we are wine club members. I actually prefer the wine here, but my wife likes Marchesi better. There is a nice area to sit outside and a nice view of Mt. Adams. There is an overflow parking lot to the west of the winery if the main lot is full so there is plenty of parking. We have found most of the staff to be very friendly. Tasting room is typical and there is nothing available to purchase to eat, so take your own and enjoy eating outside. They have a separate tasting area for wine club members that they open on crowded days. Tasting is $10, with $5 credit for each bottle purchased. They make many different types of wine and you can choose what you would like to taste. This place is worth stopping in.
