This is a great place to come and just spend the day checking out all the old airplanes and cars. Located right next to the Hood River airport up on the heights in Hood River, Oregon. This is a real gem, not to be missed....More

Thank you for the review. WAAAM's Annual Hood River Fly-In is always the weekend after Labor Day and a wonderful opportunity to see hundreds of airplanes up close and flying about the airport. As you mentioned, our videos are a great way to see what...More

This museum, located far from any busy metro area, is well worth the drive to Mt Hood. With the exception of one or two exhibits undergoing restoration, every plane and car here, plus motorcycles and a tractor or two, are fully functional. On the "2nd...More

Thank you for reviewing. You said everything so wonderfully in your review we just wanted to update a few things - to further stabilize the collection the museum's temperature control has gotten much better...the winters are still a bit cold and the summers a bit...More

This is such a cool Museum! All the antique autos and airplanes are functional and driven or flown regularly. We will go back and bring family!

Thank you for the review. Seeing the collection in motion is always extra fun. If there was ever a time visitors needed to entertain a number of people, family or otherwise, there is always something for everyone to enjoy at WAAAM.

Huge buildings filled with a unique and amazing display of historic airplanes and automobiles. It was well organized, very diverse and really left one in awe of how far and how fast our modes of travel have evolved.

Thank you for reviewing. Education groups often use WAAAM as a good way to get hands on experience when talking about transportation history across the ages in America. Each object can act as a cultural touchstone to help bring history to life.

A very under advertised attraction in the Hood River area. If you like seeing antique autos and airplanes in pristine condition, this is definitely a stop you need to put on your itinerary. I recommend allowing at least two to three hours to see all...More

Thank you for the review. Admission to the museum is valid for the whole day so often if you are traveling with kids that get too tired of the museum before the rest of the group is done, visitors will occasionally pop into town and...More

Thank you for reviewing. Becoming a supporter of the museum is a great way to experience the best of WAAAM for a whole year of fun. A popular trend with locals is to become a supporter and enjoy the museum on rainy days, for family...More

Thank you for the review. As of August 2014 there was 118 airplanes, 134 autos, 35 motorcycles, 16 military vehicles, 5 tractors, 1 tugboat, and 1 caboose. Now that it is 2016, for us it is easier just to say we have over 300+ large...More

I love museums guided by love instead of a wanna-be professor curator! This place is HUGE! And filled to the brim seemingly without a master plan. Cars parked among planes, engines, models -- a jeep with a canon, a 1911 Curtiss Pusher, seaplanes by the...More

Thank you for reviewing. Because WAAAM is a living history museum things are constantly in motion. This activity means that the collection, even when stationary in the display buildings, does not feel sterile or closed off. Visiting during our Second Saturday events is also great...More

In 2016 the museum announced that it will be adding another acre or so of indoor display space bringing the total display area up to four buildings and just over 3.5 acres by the end of 2016! Every inch is jam packed with fun.

Yes. Taking photos is highly encouraged and the volunteer hosts out on the exhibit floor are often more than happy to get you behind the display ropes for a super-up-close shot too.
