My husband and I visited WAAAM while on vacation. It was a wonderful day spent wandering among old planes, cars and motorcycles that all run! They even have classes so you can learn to drive an old Model T Ford, or other old cars. The planes all fly, too. A first for most museums where usually the displays no longer... More

Thank you for the review. On the Second Saturday of each month WAAAM takes out some of the collection to fly and drive. For those that want the extra level of experience our Driving School classes are offered in the summer where you can learn to drive Model T Fords or drive through the decades in a variety of 30s,... My wife and I really enjoyed seeing the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automoile Museum. The collection of planes and cars was amazing to see. The other collections scattered around the multiple hangars that make up the museum were also very enjoyable to see. Models, toy collections, firearm collections, military unforms, the list goes on and on. The fact that the... More

Thank you for reviewing. WAAAM is constantly striving to enhance the collection with additional history and information for our visitors to enjoy. Because the collection is still alive and the objects frequently move about when we take them out for exercise most of this extra information is on our website, on the WAAAM App, or in the knowledge of our... We really enjoyed the tour of this place, great exhibits on location and a lot of history. All the artifacts available was amazing at every corner. I really enjoyed the items from WWII and the collectables! Catch the volunteers, they are full of knowledge and give great stories of items. Great time for the family for sure.

The museum is attached to the local airfield. The collection of vintage cars and airplanes is world class and the facility is very well staffed and maintained. The admission cost is reasonable. It's a great place for kids and grownups.

Thank you for reviewing. WAAAM is strategically positioned next to the Hood River-Ken Jernsted Airfield so that pilots can not only fly in to see the collection but so that we can fly the museum airplanes too. The museum's action days happen on the Second Saturday of every month all year round (but sometimes you can see us do other... More

This is our third visit in the last few years, we will go again... Very well laid out, very much to see.. Many older airplanes and cars and the bulk of them are functional.. Most all very well restored.. Expect to spend at least 2 hours maybe more if you are in love with old planes and cars.. The staff... More

Thank you for the review. The average visit at the museum runs about 2 hours like you said. Fortunately, admission is good for the entire day encouraging people to be able to take their time viewing the collection. Many have a hard time believing such an expansive collection with over 300 large objects can be found in a relatively small... More

This museum is chock full of fully restored flyable propeller driven airplanes and drivable cars (and motorcycles) of the 1910s through 1950s. Talk about a trip down memory lane! Some of the exhibits we enjoyed included a 1917 Curtis Jenny, several Stearmens, the WWII L-Bird collection, a 1914 Detroit Electric (Watch out Tesla), and a couple of 1950s era Thunderbirds.... Thank you for reviewing. To keep the WAAAM fleet up and running we have a full restoration shop for both airplanes and automobiles on site. These buildings are only open for viewing during the Second Saturday of every month. Thank you for the review. Many visitors are surprised at how large the collection on display is at the museum. With over 300 large objects spread in to 2.5 acres of indoor display space (soon to be 3.5 acres in September 2016), there is something for everyone to see and enjoy. The museum is located right at the Ken Jernstedt-Hood... More

Saw this attraction on Trip Advisor when planning an anniversary getaway to Hood River. We have enjoyed other automobile and airplane museums in the Pacific Northwest, but this museum is just on another level. There are currently 2 hangars filled, chock a block with a variety of functioning vintage and antique planes and cars. There is a great selection of... More

This museum has a fabulous collection of restored fly able genera aviation aircraft. No "heavy iron" warbirds, rockets, space stuff. Just what must be the best collection of its type in the world. Not to mention a hundred or so cars and trucks. We spent 5 hours just highlighting it.

Thank you for the review. The average visit at the museum is 2 hours. Others can spend all day long enjoying the collection.
