Fred is one of the most knowledgeable wine tour guides I have ever met. He is polite, courteous and has a wonderful sense of humor. There is not much that he does not know when it comes to wines. I strongly recommend you contact him as far in in advance of your tour as you can. Share your wine-knowledge level... More

You make me blush~...Thank YOU for the kind words. The day WAS an "adventure" and together we made it work. And Bravo...for getting up early the next day to view the valley's beauty from "up near the clouds." It was my pleasure in assisting you to find some rare and hard to find Pinot. The treasure awaits..enjoy and have a... More

There were five of us doing the tour as part of a family reunion. Fred was informative, helpful but informal and entertaining. He answered our questions but was not intrusive. Four gorgeous wineries: Elk Grove, Fairsing, Arborbrook, and Trisaetum....Fred was also helpful in arranging shipment of our purchases home including picking up some wine later from our hotel. Hard to... More

I can't say enough about Fred and this tour. The experience started well before we ever met. Fred really wanted to know what kind of wine drinkers we were, what we liked to drink and who we wanted to see. This is no "canned" tour, Fred will customized everything to your taste. We are very experience wine collectors and we... More

We had a truly amazing experience with Marie and A Nose For Wine! She handcrafted an incredible tour for us. Her expansive knowledge of wine, the Willamette valley and the specific wineries was approachable, helpful and didactic. Her relationships with the wineries also made our experience more insightful. After a few tastings, she was able to discern not only what... More

In planning a trip to Oregon, I knew I wanted to tour the wine country that is famous worldwide for its Pinot Noir. If you have any interest whatsoever in expanding your knowledge of wine and find yourself in the area, A Nose For Wine is the only way to go. I called Fred a few months before we arrived... More

We found A Nose for Wine by accident, really. I was helping a friend plan a last minute surprise birthday present for her husband. Every place we tried was either booked or required 8 people minimum for a wine tour. I emailed Fred on a Thursday (and the birthday was that Sunday). I asked if he was available, but we... More

Heather, I don't what to say...except Thank You for your most generous and kind words regarding the "surprise birthday tour!" I am truly humbled and...so very glad you "stumbled" on our website. What totally delightful guests you were and it was MY pleasure to participate in creating an itinerary that involved meeting and talking with those who grow the grapes... More

Marie provided us with a great day and we enjoyed talking with her about Oregon wines and hearing the history of the Willamette Valley. We had an idea what wineries we wanted to see and she confirmed the good choices and steered us to some new experiences as well. We will be back.

Thanks again to Fred and the wonderful day that we spent with him in October. He picked us up promptly at our hotel, and we spent the day learning so much about wine. We went to smaller boutique wineries and had a wonderful lunch that Fred supplied. After our day and our purchase of a case of wine, Fred took... More

A friend and I booked a wine tour of Willamette with Marie in mid-September, and had such a wonderful time—it exceeded my expectations! We were so impressed with the level of service, customization, and care she and Fred put into their tours. Marie clearly took our preferences into account when planning the day (she had asked via email when we... More

My wife and I visited Willamette Valley for the first time Sept 14-16. We've been to Napa and Sonoma before so this was something new. We spent the day with Fred - A Nose for Wine - on Sept 15. Fred's knowledge of the industry, choice of wineries and his easy going personality made this a very special day for... More
