We enjoyed a walk at the Natural Area. We did get off the trail somehow and the 1.4 mile walk became 2.7 miles. The dog was tired, but the walk was lovely.

We stopped here hoping to find a hike, and found a loop trail that covers a great portion of the natural area. The brush and tree growth really show you just how rugged the coast can be. There are viewing areas all along the trail, and you can enjoy the beauty of the area, and the quietness of the natural area. We were lucky and had a clear sunny day. On the Oregon coast weather can be iffy and turn on a dime ,so you might find yourself wishing for your water proof hikers and a good raincoat. If you are lucky as us,it will just be a very pleasant hike in a very special place.

We took a short hike in the Clay Myers Natural Area while staying in Pacific City. I did not know this place existed north of Pacific City on Whelan Island. It is a short hike that loops along the bay and then back inland among loads of pink Rhodies. They appear to be close to peak bloom right now and made for a nice background.

It's a really wonderful natural area, for camping, hiking, kayaking, walking. Usually not too much noise from the atv-holes to the north.

It was OK but we didn't stop there. Kind- of tricky to get to. Couldn't see that there was any beach access
