Stumbled on to the "falls," which are really rapids of the Rogue River. It was peaceful and exhilarating at the same time. What some people don't like about it—no facilities—is what I did like about it. On a sunny weekend day there was no one here except the occasional rafting expeditions over the falls. Very nice for a local spot.

We found these falls by accident because we just took an exit off
I 5. A pretty part of the Rogue River. The falls aren't high and dramatic but are pretty. We found a good place to sit and enjoyed a late lunch.

Look -- the entire area is beautiful. We were renting a home down the road and went to sit on the bench here every day to take it all in. It's glorious. Way too many birds to count. There are a lot of things I feel aren't worth going out of your way for, but if you're in Gold Hill or Medford or Grants Pass -- just go and sit and breathe for awhile. On our first day there, we were fortunate to see three boats from Orange Torpedo Trips come through, having the time of their lives.

The 'parking lot' is a gravel area about 1/4 acre in size. The walk to the 'falls' is along a bike path, and unmarked. You have to walk west on the path to get there; otherwise no way of knowing. The 'falls' is nothing more than a rapids. No bathrooms or places to change and swim. Just a wide spot in the road.

These may not be the largest or most impressive falls around but they still are beautiful and soothing. They are very close to downtown Gold Hill and a great place to stop and have your lunch or just to take a walk around the area.

These falls right out of downtown Gold Hill are not huge by any means but they are still beautiful to sit and watch. There’s a nice walkway / bike way in the vicinity which goes all the way out to Del Rio winery . There an interesting placard that explains the Indian history of the area.

This is a little off I-5 and not anything spectacular here. When the river is high it is not a good time to go and when it is low, there is nothing to see.

Pretty falls which are really white water rapids. Too dangerous for animals and kids to be in, but great for WW rafters and kayakers. To find the loop, after parking walk to the bike path. Turn right and walk until you find the marked path. You can also see the falls from the road opposite. There's a pullout and a picnic table to view the falls from, but not a walking path.
