I stopped by to see if anybody had ever put up some information about the family, but alas, I guess that will never happen. Google has info, but it's too bad somebody doesn't write something up. The little cemetery is fairly neat and tidy. Do not expect anything exciting here. It's just a tiny piece of Oregon history -- although... More

As other reviewers have commented, this is a small, quaint piece of history that would occupy visitors or a family for ~5-10 minutes. Offers a nice place to think about the past, and to catch your breath after a hike at Otter Point.

Brings to mind the different moral perception that a century passing makes. While there are certain pre-conceived notions about settler/indigenous relations of the time, this monument begs the question: how would you feel?

This is a monument, a historical piece of Oregon. It is Geisel Monument State HERITAGE SITE. SITE! Not theme park, not safari, not shopping center. What do people expect when they see the word site? Disneyland? No go to cali if you want that. This is more than just some ride at a park or a french fry in your... More

This place is pretty much only a lawn area, picnic table and graveyard. There is nothing to do there except maybe a place to stretch your legs and have a picnic. Don't plan a day or a trip around it

Either we did not find the real Geisel Monument, in which case better signage is certainly needed, or the monument is simply a family grave site. It was not worth the drive to get there.

Care of foliage and quite-tude. It was nice... but only go if you are near the area. It is a bit off the beaten track, and its a sad story.

If you like local history, you will find this interesting! A monument to early pioneers who lived and died there.

Trying to decide which Gold Beach attractions to see on out way to Coos Bay is not a tough decision as there as so few; however, we did stop by for 15 minutes to view this graveyard and historical site. I would not have done it had I know how limited this very small site is and it's narrow focus.... More

I do not know why this is on the maps, but it is a small graveyard with nothing to see. Don't bother.
