Moving

Went with cousin. Both of us were moved by the way the displays were set up. Actually gave you a feel for what it would have been like had you been there. Very moving! Would see again!!

Great stop
Sep 2020
Great museum. Packed with stuff. Civil war to Iraq war. So much stuff to see. We glanced over much and spent an hour. $5 to enter. Less for veterans.

Good collection of military memorabilia: medals, uniforms, signage, etc. We especially liked the two films: One on WWI history and the other Women pilots during WWII. Ticket discount available to all military members.

Great for History Buffs

Awesome venue for a variety of time periods in our Country’s history. The collection and variety of items is beyond imagination and so interesting. Make sure to set aside a good hour or more for an in-depth look. Staff is also well versed on the collection and the history. It was great to see the hubby enjoying sharing stories with staff.

Honoring our Past

I have been wanting to visit the Oregon Coast Military Museum for some time. I finally got the chance last weekend. I was very impressed with the quality of their exhibits. I walked away feeling that the time I spent there was well spent. I would recommend this as a worthwhile stop to anyone passing through Florence. Also I would recommend a stop in Eugene at the Oregon Aviation & Space Museum.

Certainly worth a visit!

My husband and I spent a couple of hours here seeing the exhibits and reading all the information. I especially enjoyed the personal stories. There are also some slide-show videos and a great movie with plenty of seating room.

Perfect for a family visit
Mar 2019
This little gem of a museum is well laid out, and had a wealth of interesting personal military artifacts/vignettes and easy to view/read/digest history. We have been to many museums but while in Florence stopped in with 3 grandchildren (8,6,4) and were SUPER impressed with this gem! We only had an hour, but could have spent more, and will return! Both personal stories and memoriabilia to engage the viewer in each theatre of war. Very well done and rich assortment of personal letters/stories and items donated by local veterans of many theatres of conflict. We shall return!

Military Museum Honors History of Military
Nov 2018 • Solo
I find this Museum a must stop. Offers a wide variety of artifacts from Civil War to the current military endeavors of the U.S. Military. There is a great gift shop too, and host of historical books to peruse and a small theater for the running of military historical documentaries. The staff is very knowledgeable and gives guided tours if you desire.
Its small but chucked full of memorabilia. One of the few museums that has a Merchant Marine Display too.
