These Conde McCullough bridges are all so iconic to Oregon's coast. The one in Florence is especially beautiful. Next to it is the lovely little old towne area where you can walk under the bridge and see the architecture of the bridge.

Very beautiful bridge from all views especially the water. Classic Art Deco columns. For a treat take a walk across it sometime. Good salmon hole right downstream too.

Beautiful bridge with Gothic arches under the roadbed and an overall Art Deco design. We picked up a take away lunch and ate with the river and bridge in view. One of several Oregon bridges of similar design that still grace the Oregon coast highway.

I love old bridges and this one certainly fits into the category. I took pictures from several angles to get various views of the structure as it is unique it is also wonderful along the Oregon coast to see so many rivers come out and empty into the ocean and view the small cities that begin in those areas. Take a walk around this and check it out.

The drive along the Oregon Coast includes some very resplendent bridges. Time has taken a toll on some of them even eliminating a few, but thankfully the Siuslaw is still intact for everyone to cross and to enjoy as they enter or leave Florence.

How do you rate a bridge? I don't know, but there is something about standing below this bridge and seeing the beautiful architecture, Siuslaw River and Oregon dunes that is awe-inspiring. I'm so thankful that the architects of days past cared about creating something as beautiful as it is functional. Visit the riverside park (just east...to the left...of the Siuslaw Coffee Roasters) to stand out above the river and capture the sand dunes through the arches of the bridge. Just to the west (to the right) of the coffee roaster, stand beneath the arches for an echoed pattern of majesty. Great for photographers. Finally, take your yummy coffee, cross the street and climb the steps to walk out onto the bridge for a birds-eye view of beautiful Old Town, the river and dunes. Great photos can be had here that include the beautiful architecture up close as well. I guess this is how you rate a bridge...by the experience it creates both below and above...and this bridge does not disappoint. When you are here, it is easy to see why this bridge was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Beautiful Art Deco bridge from any angle but my favorite view was from Old Town Florence next to the Waterfront Depot restaurant. There is a bench that you can relax and just soak in this magnificent old bridge. Definitely a photo op after the sun has set and everything is "golden" !

The Siuslaw River Bridge spans the Siuslaw River on US 101 in Florence, Oregon. It opened in 1936 and is listed as a historical site. It is just over 1500 feet long and prior to its opening it was necessary to take a ferry across the river. I stayed in the Port of Siuslaw Campground in my RV in the first row right on the river; therefore, I had a constant beautiful view of the bridge. If you're cruising down 101 near Florence, take the time to visit the historic district and the Port Campground where you'll have beautiful views of the bridge. Additionally the Veterans Day parade in the historic downtime is real nice too!
