You'll want to take along water, wear long pants, and (probably) use sunblock for this hike. We took the northern end of the loop trail from the trailhead after hearing from another hiker that the southern end had been taken over by dune. The north end winds by camping areas, crosses a road, and then heads to the beach through... More

Were only ones on the trail in late May. Got to end and had a huge beach along the Pacific ocean to ourselves. Saw sea lions in the waves. Dunes were incredible and a must see.

You have never seen so much sand before. The beach seems to go on forever but that is what Oregon is known for. Great for picture taking.

We were out in fantastic sunny weather, but only took the short loop out to the dunes and a bit of a walk toward the beach. Stunning views of the sand and rain-water oases. Note that the trail to the right is the easier, and goes past a pretty wooded ponded. If your team is tired after playing on the... More

1 hour loop was well marked, and mostly escapes the vehicular noise. 4-6 hours roundtrip to reach the beach.

This was a fun thing to do. I believe that it was a little over a half mile, one way, from the parking lot to the beach. There is plenty of parking available. Walking in the sand is a little tricky. At times, your feet can get buried in the sand dunes and it ends up being like work. Bring... More

This is a relatively easy hike and was beautiful. The dunes are amazing and the sand is so fine it's like trudging through snow. The beach is wide open and tranquil. Not a lot of people on this trail until you get back to the trailhead. Worth the trek and plenty of parking.
