Seriously discouraging
Dec 2019 • Family
I am a great believer in science education for children and I have taken my grandchildren to several science centers This one was massively disappointing. The displays were not well conceived and roughly half of them did not work. The children came away frustrated rather than excited to learn more. Hence I would recommend avoiding this center It makes science look shabby

Small science center in Eugene, Oregon
Aug 2019
The center has free parking. Once parked, there is a lengthy walk on a path through the trees to the center. The admission charge is small (I paid $4). The center is one large room with several hands on exhibits. It is not very large and there is nothing special about it.

Fun for kids
Aug 2019
This is a great little science center for kids. We stopped here on a road trip and it provided my kids (4 and 8) with 2 hours of great activities. The center is small, but it is packed with science stuff. Both my children were well entertained by the games and exhibits. We also attended the planetarium show which we all enjoyed as well. Everything here is geared toward children, no adult exhibits or activities. This science center participates in the ASTC reciprocal program, so if you are a member of another science center your family will get in for free (check the website). There is also free parking and the planetarium show was only $5 a person. Nice affordable activities!

Hands on for kids
Jul 2019
If you have elementary school aged children you and they will enjoy this. As a senior couple versed in science we had little interest for the hands on displays. However, I have to say we both greatly enjoyed the planetarium show and that alone was worth the price of admission.

They had a wonderful hands on science program for young kids

They had a wonderful hands on science program for young kids, and it was wonderful. Not what they advertised, but fantastic anyway! The folks there were all patient, knowledgeable, and interesting!

Great for the Family

It has been awhile since we have visited the Science Center. But the staff was very professional and the kids had a blast. The planetarium is fantastic as always a treat!

Disappointing visit
Oct 2017 • Family
My family and I live in the area and have never made it over to the Science Factory. We saw their Halloween event advertised and it sounded like it could be fun for the kiddos, so we gave it a shot. We won’t be going back. Such a disappointment. The area inside is very small. The displays are outdated and a handful weren’t even working properly. The Halloween stuff they advertised such as make your own slime and worms was a letdown. They had kids (middle schoolers, maybe early high school) running the stations and they didn’t explain things well at all. They were running out of supplies. The entire thing just felt very unorganized.

Very outdated and in need of a face lift.
Aug 2017 • Family
Came here to give my kids something to do and while they had fun, it was pretty short lived. There is not a ton of things to do and what they do have is very old, dated and in need of repair. More then a few of their exhibits could not even be interacted with because they were broken. Its small and quiet inside. They did have a planetarium that we saw a show in that was cool, but again very old.

There is potential here, but more needs to be done before we could consider coming again.

Great deal!

Love this place. We have two children, two and nine, that spend a lot of time here. Staff is wonderful(Greta and Nick are just AMAZING!). We bought the family pass and what a deal that was! We get in free and all extra programs are discounted. My nine year old does nonschool days and camps here and LOVES it! Looking forward to doing birthday parties here! Thank you Science Factory!
