You can count of this place to have the best of the best independent movies. We go often and see films that normally will not be playing in the multiplex. The staff here is really a nice group of people. The popcorn and other refreshment are reasonably priced and they have beer and wine available. This old church is a... More

The Bijou is simply a great little theater. It's set up in a funky old church and is one of the most hippie, art-house venues you'll ever see. While I love the place, their occasionally-poor selection of independent films keeps me from giving it a 5-star review. But, this is definitely a great place to go while around UO!

Tired of big box theatres that don't play the movies you really want to see? Then this is the place.

Beautiful building with a gorgeous Mediterranean architecture. They host great movies, especially the international ones. Nice little pantry shop for snacks is inside the building. The bathrooms are clean.

Both Bijou Cinemas get all of the independent films that so many small cities miss out on. These small theaters have an old time feel to them, reminiscent of days gone by. We go out of our way to avoid the huge "corporate" theaters and these two theaters are the perfect answer.

I'm pleased that the Bijou has opened a new theater in the center of town on Broadway near Willamette. Its clean and just the right size and close to many restaurants in the area....including the new ice cream store. This was my 3rd trip since they opened.

The chairs may not be the most comfortable but the movie selections are often wonderful and the friendly staff and unique theater make it a great experience.

There is an adjoining restaurant, where you can purchase food and beverages to take into the theater. The theaters are smaller and the same Bijou atmosphere is present in the lobby.

There are two Bijou theaters. One is in an old church, and one is downtown in a newer building. Both, however, are small intimate theaters, with old time popcorn, other food choices, and terrifically cheap prices (by Chicago standards, anyway). The people working there are knowledgeable, and clearly love what they do. They often have interesting movies that you won't... More

The staff is always welcoming and they offer top rated art films. With the new Bijou Metro we have an even larger selection of great film. The downtown location has very intimate screening rooms and the original is wonderfully funky.
