We used a guide service for fishing provided by Cabelas Pro Guides. The guide provided the boat, fishing poles, and lures. The river is really beautiful. There was lots of Steelhead in the river. We started at 7 am and fished till 2 pm. We caught two fish. It was very enjoyable. He cleaned the fish for us, helped us... More

I live within walking distance of the Willamette River and the many trails are a gift to our community

This year was the second time we'd watched the fireworks from an area along the Willamette River. Family-friendly even and awesome fireworks reflected in the river.

My wife and I were there during the winter months but no excuse for law enforcement hassling us or the rude locals. We tried to find directions to public access areas for a quiet walk on a beautiful 60 degree day while our grandson rested at home with my son, but were "run off" by everyone we attempted to ask.... Beautiful to look at and play on. It is like any river however and must be treated with respect, the water is really cold most of the year and has been known to fool zealous swimmers or those wishing to cool off.

The bike path or walking path or river path...whatever you want to call it, goes for miles. On a nice day it is just a deep breath of fresh air and a balm to tired eyes and ears.

Many things are available at all participation levels. From observations to rafting to fishing to sitting to hiking to walking to jogging. Your imagination is the main limit.

Water quality of the river is currently B-. The pristine McKenzie River also runs through the area and is more the choice for fishing and rafting.

The Willamette river starts with snow melt in the Cascades and is full of trout as well as steelhead during the fall season. It's clear water and scenic beauty well known. We grew up camping on the "upper" Willamette near Oakridge as children and return every summer with our kids. In Eugene THE River runs thro ugh town, and is... More

There are tons of great opportunities to see the Willamette River in Eugene, from eating dinner at Sweetwaters or the North Bank to exercising on the river path. The DeFazio and Autzen foot-bridges are particularly impressive, though. It's awesome that a city the size of Eugene has as many non-automotive crossings as they do. Floating the river is even better,... More
