I grew up in neighboring Springfield, and lived in Eugene for 2 years. I recently moved to Portland and miss the Eugene area. I used to love to shop around at the 5th St market because not only can you get a feel of historic Eugene, but you dont even need money for some stores. Example: Uncommon Sence has many free samples of their products including natural lotions and perfumes. It even exits into a beautiful courtyard complete with fountain. Many people just come to relax in that atmosphere and eat some awsome food.

This last week we were going to take the kiddos to the toy store. We were parked accross the rail road tracks. I wish we had noticed the sidewalk tent/tarp camp before walking into the mess! Eugene use to be a clean city, we were very disappointed and will not be back to the market until we feel that is is safe!

Because came up on trip advisor as a top activity, I wandered around. The shopping isn’t great (I love local boutique type shopping, but there just wasn’t much variety, nor are there many stores). The grocery store was awesome!! (Gourmet food and wine). I appreciated the Oregon based store since I was from out of town and wanted to pick up some local treats. (Got some candy and coffee to take home)
Overall, this place is small and doesn’t have much to offer. It’s clear that this is the area of downtown to grab a bite to eat- with several restaurants within waking distance of the shopping (across the street - not actually in the development).
Parking is free and easy!

... boutique shopping malls are not my thing. But I'll make an exception for 5th Street Public Market. (Fun fact: It's called "5th STREET Public Market," but it's actually on 5th AVENUE!)
We started in the Pendleton Woolen Mills store, and then went in to the main multi-story mall. Time spent in Made in Oregon, the Elephant's Trunk toys and Swahili Modern (where they import their own free-trade arts and crafts from some 10 African countries).
Lots of fun, even if boutique shopping isn't quite your thing!

I had Sunday brunch here with friends. The upstairs food court has counter service. I had breakfast tacos at Tres Mil, and it was delicious. The place was reasonably busy, but no waiting.

I enjoyed spending a couple hours here one afternoon while visiting Eugene. The stores are mostly independent...not chains so it was a little adventure. There are lots of clothing/jewelry/food/wines made in Oregon sold here. There are a couple dining choices and a wine bar. Definitely worth a stop if you like to shop.

This is a great place to shop, eat, and sit around with a cup of coffee. There is a lot of variety at this market. Even if you are not in the shopping mood, it is an ice hangout.

Beautiful place, lovely ambience. Lots of places to shop and eat. A bit spendy but one can save it all by window shopping. Nice architecture, great fountain- florist sitting area. Beautiful hotel connected next door. Nice lighting in the evening. A great place to be in.
Love Gandhi's quote near the fountain.

5th st. Public Market has been one of my favorite Eugene places for a long time. Many of the shops and restaurants are associated with the same few owners, but it works out nicely. They have a good range of restaurants upstairs with reasonable prices, and some of the nicest restaurants in Eugene call the market home. Marche is high end French food, and Cafe Lucky Noodle is just a block down on 5th. There are also some great jewelry, clothing, and gift shops, not to mention Marche Provisions, which sells unique food items and more olive oil variations than I knew existed. They also have events such as free wine tastings, wine clubs, and showcase certain regional foods from time to time. Hartwick's, next door to Provisions, is a great local kitchen supply store that always has really innovative things as well as high-end, high quality items.
With the addition of the new Inn at the 5th, the market is at its most successful, in my opinion, since I've lived in Eugene (I was born here). It's a great atmosphere, they have free customer parking, and I can spend a good afternoon wandering, tasting, and taking in the sights and sounds of one of Eugene's great markets.

We really didn't know what to expect, but we're pleasantly surprised. It is basically a collection of retail stores under one roof, lots of smells & visually appealing atmosphere. We didn't buy much but it was a great browsing experience. And oh my, upstairs is a food-court with a wide variety of cook-to-order menus. Overall clean, welcoming place to do casual shopping

Is there a complimentary breakfast for hotel guests?
So the rooms have a mini-fridge?
Is there a pool at the hotel?
Thank you.
