- Barbara CMosier, Oregon5 contributionsThe best time 1!!!!My best girlfriend and I spent 3 magical days in Dundee wine tasting and relaxing and ejoying all Dundee has to offer! My best experience by far was visiting Argyle tasting room! We were greeted by Emma with a warm welcome and a glass of bubbly! We were then invited to sit wherever we wanted and from there, the relaxation and lovely experience began. Lisa was our server but she became more than our server. She was all things Argyle with the history of the place and just made our time there so fun! She really made our experience the best111 We felt like we mattered and truly had the most amazing time! I will come back and refer your place to anyone who will be visiting Dundee! Lisa is a true gem at your establishment and felt like we left having met a dear friend! PLUS your wine is delightful! Thank you! We will be back!!!Visited February 2024Traveled with friendsWritten February 29, 2024

- Julie S1 contributionWine tasting as a member of the Argyle Wine Club.Is there anything better than being greeted by ‘Welcome Bubbles’? Yes, I’d dare to to tell you… Lisa was helping us today explore the offerings of a complex and historical winery in Dundee Oregon. Lisa knows her wine and history AND is committed to helping you find what you like. In fact, I can’t say enough great things about the staff at Argyle Winery. I’ve been a member since 2021 for this reason. It’s a great place to spend an afternoon learning, tasting, and exploring the best Oregon has to offer.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 22, 2024

We had a really lovely vacation in Oregon wine country, and visited lots of lovely wineries of various types. The only one that was a bad experience, through and through, was Argyle.
The physical space of the tasting room is sleek; the views, compared to the many other places you can visit, aren’t great.
One could easily get over this if the wines themselves were excellent. They were not—we tasted both still and sparkling wines—we were particularly excited about the sparkling wines—and we did not have a single sip we enjoyed. Just bad. And that’s unusual for the area; nearly everywhere else we visited, we (a) thought the wines were generally great, and (b) found at least one wine we loved.
One might even get over average wine if the tasting experience was pleasant. It wasn’t. It felt like a factory: larger groups, and a totally impersonal tasting experience with an employee who knew nothing about the wine or winemaking beyond a few clearly memorized lines and who was obviously going through the motions. Compared to the other wineries we visited (with similar or less expensive tasting fees), where we met passionate winemakers and really enjoyed our interactions with staff, the tasting experience was poor.
Not recommended. So many other superb places to visit for wine tasting that are but a few minutes’ drive away from Argyle.

Very disappointing. We visited the Dundee property to wine taste and enjoy a bottle of wine on the property. To our surprise we were told we could only taste wine and enjoy a glass but not a bottle, based on the type of liquor license they have. That seemed very odd to us since we have visited many wineries in the area and that’s the 1st time to experience that response. Very limited options on tasting, with sparkling wine being 100% of one flight and 2 of 5 in the second flight. It does not feel like a winery since it is at a tasting room in town. The person that helped us had no information about the wine, and never returned to the table. It all seemed very fake.

Airlie Winery is a quite different winery. The tastings are very reasonable, and the grounds not only have seating areas with a pleasant view but there is a pond and picnic area. There are usually dogs visiting and the dogs are running in the open areas and have access to the pond. It was fun to see the dogs having so much fun. They are a member of the “Heart of the Willamette Wineries” which sells a $30 pass that provide things like free tastings and discounts at many different wineries in the area. The wine is very reasonably priced with a selection of several types of wine. We liked the Pino Blanc and bought a bottle for later.

Argyle is a lovely modern tasting room located on the main road in Dundee. Plenty of on-site parking. We tried a delicious flight of sparkling wine. Our server was knowledgeable and gave us an extra taste of sparkling rose. Argyle has a partnership with local art students and features limited edition of bottles featuring the special labels created by the students during an annual contest. We enjoyed our visit and purchased a few bottles that we shipped home. Reserve a tasting time if you enjoy sparking wine!

The tasting list was meant to experience the different type of wine that this winery produces, not necessarily the best wine they have, that is why I call it introductory. My small home cellar has 700+ bottles of highly rated wine, never I occupied a spot/slot for one of argyle wine, doses mean Argyle has bad wine, but my taste profile and selection is way different than Argyle. My sparkling wine section has French sparkling wine from the champagne region only, but if I cannot afford those, then Argyle would have been an affordable alternative without compromising the taste.
As for Pinot noir, Argyle rarely produce n exceptional vintages, so I stick to the most reputable wineries for that section.
Of the tasting options ion they offered and we tried in June 2024:
Of the “Sparkling Flight” they offer ($45 for 4 tastings); the 2013 Extended Triage Brut is the only one that is drinkable.
Of the Variety Flight” they offer ($45 for 4 tastings); the 2021 Giving Tree Vyd. Pinot Noir is good at 88points, and followed by 2021 Spirithouse Pinot at a 87 points.
The tasting room is not in the winery…. Big negative of course (I did not know that).
Serving staff ( the one we had) is very nice and knowledgeable.
I came with very low expectations for Argyle wine and left with the same impression. Not for me.

If I could have given Argyle 4 1/2 stars I would have. The only reason it is not a 5 star is because the tasting room is loud, large, and very busy. Making a reservation is a must. I saw they turn away people without reservations. Our wine host, a male, was outstanding. He was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He provided us tasting of wine off the standing tasting list. Our favorite wine was the 2010 Extended Tirage Brut. YUM! Worth the trip to this winery. We sat inside. I think the outside seating would be less noisy.

We've all been to many wineries, but this one was so different than any other - and in a good way! We enjoyed the Sparkling Experience, which of course included tastings but it was also interactive and wonderfully historical. We learned so much from Mark about the history of the Willamette Valley. Such a beautiful property and very nice sparkling wines. Highly recommend this experience vs. just going for a tasting in their tasting room.

Friendly server and lovely outdoor patio, but service was as slow as a desert tortoise. Our tasting took 2 hours to pour. The flight of still wines was better than the flight of sparkling wines. Skip the tasting altogether; order a bottle of wine and enjoy it with a sandwich at Red Hills.

No. It is a very nice setting for wine tasting but they do not serve food normally. They have hosted some wine club member only events in the original building with some finger food, but not for the general public.
