From chocolate-covered Twinkies two chocolate covered marshmallows and salt water taffy that melts in your mouth this little shop right on 101 across from the water is a great little place to stop if you're lucky enough to get there when they're doing the Taffy you can watch it being pulled and wrapped not a whole lot to say other... Came for the taffy and caramel corn. We decided to do a head-to-head, same day comparison of Newport Candy Shoppe and Ainslee's. We loved Ainslee's housemade caramel corn and, while Ainslee's taffy is softer than Newport, we found that we like Newport better. The store employee helping us here wasn't rude but she wasn't really pleasant either. And, unfortunately, don't... More

Thank you for the review! I am so sorry your experience was less then perfect but thrilled that you love our caramel corn. It's one of my favorites as well - but truly the riptide corn can't be beat! Yes, there was a time when we did not make many of our chocolates because we lost our chocolate dipper -... More

Thank you for your repeat business! I am so curious what you thought of the bug lollipops? I'm not sure if you saw them but we have scorpion ones as well. We actually have new caramel corn varieties coming out in the next few months - if you happen by you should sample the riptide corn if we have it... More

Bought some taffy for a gift. It smelled so good ands seemed so fresh we each tried one piece. Yeah, we ate it all. First just to try the flavors then we were addicted. Pricey because we still had to buy a gift. Fast service, small, worn and old.

Yup! I've done the same thing plenty of times. It's difficult to stop once you start :-) It's still small but we are working on updating the shop. I hope to see you in again soon and you can watch the changes as they happen! More

I never miss this stop whenever I go to the coast. My personal favorite flavor is the hot cinnamon, but they have a massive amount of flavors available. The caramel corn is fantastic, especially if you get it while it is still warm. Kids find it fascinating to watch the taffy wrapper machine at work. You will not be disappointed... More

Did you ever try the extreme cinnamon when we had it? That one was really a throat burner! Next time you are over here you should check out our new specialty corns. The riptide alone is worth the trip! More

After visiting the Oregon coast many times over the years, we just discovered Ainslee's. What a treat! We got to watch taffy being made, and even enjoyed a sample right off the presses. It's soft, chewy, and there are so many flavors to choose from. Marionberry is delicious! What a delightful and friendly group of people who work there. We... More

I bought some Ainslee's Taffy from Depoe Bay and taffy from the Newport Candy Shop. Most of the time I can't tell the difference for similar flavours between the both. However when I did a taste test for the Peanut butter flavour taffy from both shops, and the Newport taffy was more Peanut butter taste. Overall, they were pretty good... More

Our trips up and down the Oregon coast ALWAYS include a stop at Ainslee's. The ancient taffy-rolling machine always seems to be in operation in the front window, delighting old and young. Great flavored taffy, and their hidden secret, the best caramel corn for miles (in fact, the only one I EVER buy!). Don't miss it!

I live in Oregon, so we go to different areas of the coast several times a year. This is the only taffy I will buy! So much of the taffy we have tried is so hard its impossible to chew. I'm not a big candy eater, but this stuff is delicious !!

I am so thrilled you enjoyed it! Funny story - I had braces when I was a young teen and ate our taffy all the time. Never had a problem with it. After growing up I had a ton of friends tell me that taffy is bad for your braces and I was shocked because I only ever broke on... More
