Great time

We did the 90 min tour. Saw the same whale several times but no others. Had a very nice guide. Would do it again!

We had a good time with Captain Larry. The whales were being a little elusive, but we did find them. The pelican provided the comic relief. Check the information for migration times and weather conditions. It is worth the trip.

Fun! Head out into the Pacific on a Zodiac boat with your pilot Gary in hopes of seeing whales. We happened to hit the ocean on a day when it felt like being on a lake and saw a whale. What a great way to spend 90 minutes while on the Oregon coast in Depoe Bay. Check out Whale's Tail... More

Gary our captain was awesome! Friendly &knowledgeable and we saw a breaching baby and a few swimming adult whales - it was a rough windy and foggy day but he kept us safe and my 8yro son was amazed! Great tour and great people to deal with !

At first we weren't sure if we would be going out since it was foggy, windy and the water choppy. We decided to have a go. We did have whale sightings and I could see that our Captain loved what he was doing. He was extremely informative on the different types of whales in the area. This was our first... More

The Whale's Tail is a wonderful whale watching experience. We have been whale watching in many other areas and this was the single best experience. Gary is a great skipper and guide, knowledgeable and competent. Kit, who handles the reservations, was so kind and accommodateing when we had to make changes because our daughter was ill. Most places would have... More

This was so good. I love whale watching tours and have done them in Alaska, Maine, Cape Cod, Hawaii, and Washington State. THIS WAS THE BEST!! Zodiacs are the best way to see whales and these whales are right off the shore, very very close to shore. We were seeing greys within 15 minutes of leaving the very tiny harbor.... More

Went out with captain Gary and 2 other people. Gary was vary accommodating and wanted everyone to see the whales. He was very knowledgeable about whales and other marine life. He was constantly engaging us in conversation. We saw whales that morning - he made the trip comfortable and pleasurable. We had a great time on the Zodiac. My wife... More

One of the best grey whale watching adventure on the Oregon Coast, great guides, fun trips in rigid bottom rafts. Very safe and inexpensive. The salt water breeze and bird's are wonderful, sea lions basking on bouy at eye level, good photo opportunity abound.

Been out with Capt Gary several times over the years and he doesn't disappoint. We've seen whales each time we've gone and even though there are no guarantees in wildlife watching, Gary is as good as anyone at finding the resident gray whales. We never felt the least bit anxious either when the seas got rough. You do have to... More
