About
Enjoy hand-crafted wines in a stunning natural setting. Estate grown Pinot Noir, white wines, and dessert wines show the range of excellent wines. Tastings take place outside on our patio overlooking the Willamette Valley. Sitting atop the storied Dundee Hills of Oregon, Winter's Hill is owned and operated by the Gladhart family. Today the third generation is developing the farm established in 1961. Together with our employees, we manage our vineyards, fields, and forests for the long term benefit of our family and our community. We are proud to share our estate Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc (and a few other gems), and our land with our customers and visitors, and we look forward to your next visit.

Great choice on our part. With over 500 wineries to choose from, this one was one of our best picks. Our tasting was hosted by Robert outside overlooking the vineyard. Gorgeous! Robert was a incredible host. We learning the many nuances of their wine and wine in general from him. Our favorite wines are the 2021 Rose' of Pinot Noir and the 2018 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills. We loved the experience and wines so much we joined the Cellar Door Wine Club. We will be enjoying a "taste of Winter's Hill" throughout 2023 and beyond! The icing on the cake was the lovely personal note we received from the vineyard owner, Emily, when we arrived back in Arizona.

We arrived at Winter's Hill by horse drawn carriage (Equestrian Wine Tours) on a recent damp drizzly day. The tasting area is being permanently setup in the main building which was full of bins of grapes - it was awesome to be right in the middle of the action!
We had a great wine tasting and when they found out my favorite was the sold-out iced wine, gave us a sneak peak sample out of the barrel of the next iced wine! So gracious and fun, educating us about their wines without being snobby, and let us sample some spicy hazelnuts as well as date (?) bread from the nearby Trappist Abbey.
Also got to sample some locally made loose leaf tea, perfect day for that! Its always a treat to visit Winter's Hill!!

We love this family run winery! All of their wine is great, my personal favorites are the dessert wines. They have a cute tasting room but are often set-up in the warehouse so you're in the middle of the action. Join the club for specials. The view is amazing, can see the whole valley.

I've visited over 50 wineries in the Willamette Valley and believe Winter's Hill is a stand out winery that should be on everyone's "must visit" list. First, the winery is family run and when you walk into the tasting room, there is a very good chance you'll meet some of the family members who have been farming this land and making wine since 1990. Everyone who works there is super friendly and knowledgeable. Second, the tasting room is in the winery, so if you are interested in how wine is made, you'll get a first hand experience (especially if you visit during harvest) into wine making and note that the winery tour will not cost you anything on top of the relatively low fee for tasting a flight. Lastly, the wines are terrific and reflect the terroir so you'll get a very good sense of what makes the Dundee Hills AVA so remarkable in the world of wine. Plus, the property sits atop the hill and the views are amazing.
This will prove to be a very unique experience (I mean how often do you get to meet people directly involved in making wine when you visit a winery?) and well worth your time. Cheers!

We have been wine tasting (and members of their wine club) for more than 10 years. Not a fancy place. But, excellent wine and a very nice family atmosphere. The wines are reasonably priced and on occasion have great case discounts. We have also learned a great deal about wine making and grape growing from the family over time as well. Well worth a stop.

We went here after Thanksgiving for a tasting and no one in our group was impressed with the wine or experience. The moment you walk in the door you pay your tasting fee. The tasting is in their barrel room/barn, so unless it is a pretty day and you can sit outside, you are stuck standing with no counter or anything really to hang around. They also had people selling meats, raffle tickets and other items around the room. This cheapened the experience. Wine was OK. Because of how the tasting is set up and the lack or seating (or a counter at least to stand by) it feels like a tasting where you get in and get out in about 20 minutes. The views were BEAUTIFUL though at this location. So if you go in summer you might have a better experience.

Bottom line... There is not a bad wine. What a find. Discovered this family owned vineyard two years ago. I joined the wine club and keep wanting to drop it as I add new ones. Can't do it. The wines are all fantastic and reasonably priced. Just returned to the area was able to revisit winters hill and again had an amazing tasting. Doesn't hurt that the views are spectacular. Highly recommend. Paul, Russell and Emily are so friendly I remember there names :)!

I came to Winter's Hill on the recommendation from my B & B host. I had asked her about scenic wineries in the area and this was one of her first recommendations! The winery is set on a hilltop, which gives great views of the Coast Range. I greatly enjoyed the tasting which consisted of two white and three Pinot Noirs - I also got to try the Hans and Lena Pinot Gris (not on the tasting list), which was a delicious dessert wine paired with jalapeno and garlic hazelnuts. I ended up taking home a bottle of the Ninebark Sparkling Wine and the 2015 Block 8 Pinot Noir. I'd love to come back here in the summer when the grapes are growing!

Thank you for visiting and posting a five-star review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the tasting, pairing the Hans & Lena Pinot gris with the spiced hazelnuts is one of my favorites. The view is always beautiful, but it does change with the seasons. I hope you can come again in the summer. Enjoy your wines!

My wife suggested this stop after considering reviews. She was so right. We drove past several other tasting opportunities and came to Winter's Hill Estate. We enjoyed our tastings, especially the pinot noirs, but also other options. One of the owner's poured our tastings and answered our questions. Delightful. We ordered a case with a number of varieties to be shipped to Minnesota in the fall when temperatures moderate. Good value for excellent wines. We can't wait to receive our shipment.

Thank you visiting Winter's Hill Estate and sharing your experience. I love meeting our guests and answering their questions. I am constantly learning more about our wines, and it is fun to share that learning experience with our guests. We'll take good care of your wines until it is time to ship in the fall.

This was an outstanding experience that my wife, daughter, our son in law and our grandchildren enjoyed during our recent visit to Portland. The location is beautiful so peaceful and bucolic. What a setting! Then, there is the wine! Outstanding!! We sampled two whites, a Rose and three of their Pinot Noirs. Each one was exceptional. We bought several, the Rose, Pearly Everlasting is an wonderful summer wine, Rose was certainly a cut above any other and then the Pinots. Delicious. We were expertly served by Paul Beck and Clara. A memorable experience!
