About
Enjoy hand-crafted wines in a stunning natural setting. Estate grown Pinot Noir, white wines, and dessert wines show the range of excellent wines. Tastings take place within the winery so you can see, smell, touch and taste how we make our wines. Sitting atop the storied Dundee Hills of Oregon, Winter's Hill is owned and operated by the Gladhart family. Today the third generation is developing the farm established in 1961. Together with our employees, we manage our vineyards, fields, and forests for the long term benefit of our family and our community. We are proud to share our estate Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc (and a few other gems), and our land with our customers and visitors, and we look forward to your next visit.

A simple but excellent winery
Jan 2020
The lady giving me the tasting had helped to plant the original vines in 1990, and was one of the owners. She was so helpful and knowledgeable, and the wines were so tasty that I had to take some with me. It is not fancy, but they know what they are doing. Very enjoyable visit.

Outstanding experience - outstanding wines
Aug 2019
This is a great family owned winery. We have visited them twice in last couple of years. Always friendly, great service for purchases. And of course, great wines. Highly recommend you make this a stop on your wine tour.

Pleasant morning in the vineyard
Jul 2019 • Solo
Our guide (Paul?) was very knowledgeable and eager to answer all questions. He explained both production and growing at this small vineyard thoroughly. We tasted the white wines in the production facility and the pinot noirs in the vineyard itself. The vineyard is in a lovely setting with a view of meadow, bird garden and surrounding hills. The picnic lunch provided was good and the view could not have been better

What a wonderful experience! Got the tour with Russell, crash course on wine from the Dundee Hills. So glad we got to experience wine from right in our back yard of Oregon!

Delicious wine and educational tour
Apr 2019 • Couples
We arrived at Winter's Hill and Paul was waiting for us. We enjoyed our first taste of wine in the bottling part of the facility and then Paul showed us where the wine barrels are stored and talked a lot about the bottling process. We got to see some of the transfer of wine to the large containers. Next we walked through several sections of the vineyard and tasted more wine. Paul explained a lot about the growing and maintaining of the vines, how grapes are harvested, and interestingly, how a different grape varietal can be grafted onto an existing root of another varietal. He answered all of our many questions and was a delightful host. We had ordered a picnic and it was amazing! A lovely salad and a huge sandwich - we took one of them with us. We watched birds from the deck as we enjoyed our picnic. The owner is cultivating butterfly and bee gardens and she shared information with us about what she is doing. It was a lovely time. We would definitely return.

Thank you for posting a 5-star review. I'm glad you enjoyed your experience. We love showing our guests how the grapes are grown and the wine is made, and the Vineyard Tour and Picnic gives our guests plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Paul is a wonderful guide, he knows our wines and the region extremely well. Emily (the owner) has done all of the landscaping around the winery, always with an eye to encouraging and protecting the native plants and animals. We hope to see you again soon.

Amazing experience paired with delicious wine
Apr 2019 • Friends
I highly recommend at least coming to Winter's Hill even if you can't do the walk and picnic. This was one of our favorite locations we visited on this trip. The tasting room is where you can see their processes and we were there when they were about to do some bottling. The views outside looking down the hill are amazing for lunch or just a glass. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all our questions during our vineyard tour through their vines. They brought in our lunch from Red Hills Market which we were told by numerous people was a must hit, so we got delicious food with a beautiful view. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area and will go back if we make another trip!

Lovely Family Operated Winery
Mar 2019 • Solo
I came to Winter's Hill on the recommendation from my B & B host. I had asked her about scenic wineries in the area and this was one of her first recommendations! The winery is set on a hilltop, which gives great views of the Coast Range. I greatly enjoyed the tasting which consisted of two white and three Pinot Noirs - I also got to try the Hans and Lena Pinot Gris (not on the tasting list), which was a delicious dessert wine paired with jalapeno and garlic hazelnuts. I ended up taking home a bottle of the Ninebark Sparkling Wine and the 2015 Block 8 Pinot Noir. I'd love to come back here in the summer when the grapes are growing!

Thank you for visiting and posting a five-star review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the tasting, pairing the Hans & Lena Pinot gris with the spiced hazelnuts is one of my favorites. The view is always beautiful, but it does change with the seasons. I hope you can come again in the summer. Enjoy your wines!

Unique winery experience and terrific wines
Oct 2018 • Friends
I've visited over 50 wineries in the Willamette Valley and believe Winter's Hill is a stand out winery that should be on everyone's "must visit" list. First, the winery is family run and when you walk into the tasting room, there is a very good chance you'll meet some of the family members who have been farming this land and making wine since 1990. Everyone who works there is super friendly and knowledgeable. Second, the tasting room is in the winery, so if you are interested in how wine is made, you'll get a first hand experience (especially if you visit during harvest) into wine making and note that the winery tour will not cost you anything on top of the relatively low fee for tasting a flight. Lastly, the wines are terrific and reflect the terroir so you'll get a very good sense of what makes the Dundee Hills AVA so remarkable in the world of wine. Plus, the property sits atop the hill and the views are amazing. This will prove to be a very unique experience (I mean how often do you get to meet people directly involved in making wine when you visit a winery?) and well worth your time. Cheers!

Nice flight of wines, good views, nice people
Oct 2018 • Friends
This place looks like a poor man’s version of a chateau, but don’t be swayed by appearances. The wines were very good and prices were very reasonable. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. The views of the coastal range were great while we enjoyed our complimentary hazelnuts. We loved the hazelnuts so much that we bought a large bag for our ride home. You can also purchase cheese and crackers to accompany your flight of wines.

A smaller winery or to be ignored with Nice views and very friendly staff. Our server Ann was very knowledgeable and pleasant and engaging. I liked the white wines, especially the dessert white wine, since reds are not my favorite. Beautiful views with picnic tables under a trellis that you can enjoy. Lovely place to visit.

Thank you for posting a review and sharing your pictures of your visit to Winter's Hill Estate. Ann has been with us for more than four years and always provides a great experience to our guests. I'm glad you enjoyed our Hans & Lena Pinot Gris dessert wine; it has a great balance of sweetness without being cloying. We hope to see you again soon.
