My husband and I first soaked at Crystal Crane as the last stop on our honeymoon road trip in 2018. It was fabulous. So we were excited to go back as a relaxing trip during all this chaos in our world. We were happy to see all the great updates they did to the accommodations, including the pond updates. We decided to stay in one of the teepees since it had a private soaking tub. We were not disappointed. Great space. HOWEVER, as we were slipping into the pond as the sun set thrilled to finally be there, I look around and three RVs have huge flags flying. I am proud to be an American as the next person, but unfortunately our American flag and the blue stripe police flag have been co-opted by hate groups. I mentioned it to the manager as she was walking around the pond. Her facial expression went from a smile to a grimace and I was told that they were vets and that she supported all vets. Guess what - I also support vets and police, but I don’t support hate. And there was NO reason for people to be flying flags in a space that is suppose to be inclusive, relaxing and healing. To say the least, the flags stayed up the whole time we were there. Which is too bad. I used to promote Crystal Crane Hot Springs to all my friends and even strangers. Unfortunately I can’t do that anymore. I actually warn them that if they want a place to go to really relax and enjoy themselves, that this is no longer the place. Go somewhere else. The staff could easily make the space inclusive if they wanted to, just prohibit people from flying flags so they can be seen from anywhere on the property.…

What we Love about Crystal Crane Hot Springs. So quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The updates to the pond including the paved patio, seats and paved entry into the pond are great. Everything is super clean and regularly sanitized for Covid. We never felt crowded in the pond, people spaced out and if it was busy, we just waited an hour and it opened up, because it is open 24/7 you can go any time. What we didn’t love was barking dogs that owners didn’t respond to and allowed them to continue barking. Unfortunately, there is not a lot to do in the area. There is a cafe in Crane, several restaurants/bars in Burns and Malheur National Wildlife preserve. We had a nice day trip to French Glen. …

We found this place passing through a few months ago. Made a good stop over on a return. Very eclectic setting with many sleep options and day use of the hot springs. Large group area 24 hours with stay, and private options. We are using RV spade #4 with water and electric. Heading to the hot springs shortly... …

I'm so sorry to report that when I stayed at Crystal Crane in late August, the staff was not enforcing the statewide mask policy for Covid---- the staff were not wearing masks even when cleaning restrooms and lodging, and they were inconsistent in the reception area, where guests were also checking in without masks on indoors. There is so much to love about this place--with all its beauty friendliness, and calm, and yes--cleanliness. But...after I received no response from the management when I emailed about my experience, I think it's the right thing to do to let people know that this place does not seem to take the science seriously--and that puts guests and staff at risk. I hope this changes. Please remember--mask wearing is an act of unselfishness, caring, and it really helps prevent transmission of Covid. Thanks.…

We love this rustic, out of the way, place. We celebrated our 60 wedding anniversary here, enjoyed seeing all the changes through the years. Night time in the rustic outdoor pool is amazing but the mosquitos are many and hungry. The room pools are also open air so be prepared to keep your body submerged if you don’t want to be dinner for skeeters! The rooms are basic but clean and nice. …
