I visited there in November. It was a chilly day and the cold breeze on the hill was making it feel like Antarctica. Although I couldn't stand more than 10 minutes out of the car, the scenery was fabulous. You can enjoy the amazing view of the Colombia gorge and the beautiful valley. Please bring warm clothing with you.

Interesting architecture and history of how this scenic highway came about. Stop at the historic marker before you get to the Vista House for the story. Good folks manning the visitors desk and a lot of good views. We were there in the off-season so I would imagine traffic may be a little bad in the summer.

The Vista House sits in the middle of Crown Point. The highway wraps around the building. Has history boards and items inside. Check first for open hours.

Be very careful about the winds and weather as this is a cliff drive. The day we visited the winds were almost 50 mph and we could barely get out of the car.

Our first stop driving the Columbia River highway. Offers excellent views up and down the river. There is a building that is open. The day we stopped the road was closed to continue on without any detour signs. We had to backtrack to go around and get back on the scenic highway. Worth a stop. Hope this helps.

Beautiful place to visit, stretch the legs, take some pictures, and take in some gorgeous views. This is an observatory and a memorial to Oregon explorers. Nice restrooms, too! It's right on the Historic Columbia River Highway, so when/if you need to stop, this is a perfect place. The architecture of the building itself is amazing.

This is a "must stop". The view from the top is truly great. And it is right on the road. Don't forget your camera and binoculars. :)

Stunning views from high above. Can be cold and windy so watch the weather. Great vistas and pictures from the roof. Worth the views.

Definitely recommend stopping here when driving the scenic by way. That is a really cool road to drive. Fun to go up to the top of the building. Cute little gift shop downstairs. They have a few snacks. Doesn't take long to stop and didn't cost anything.

this is hands down one of the best 'vistas' in the country, maybe the world. easy to park and take pictures; a fantastic view of the gorge and one of the widest points on the columbia river.
