John is a knowledgeable and patient guide. We had a great day! Six guests on the boat brought back maybe 600 to 700 lbs of Halibut, lingcod, sole, Rockfish and crab. Everyone limited out using John's quality equipment on his sweet 32 foot Raider boat. Day ended at Filet Away where John's amazingly fun to be around friend Leroy cooked our crab, fileted our fish while we drank cold beverages and shot the breeze. I looked up the price of Halibut and Cod and figured I was extremely close to breaking even since I have enough fish to feed my family every dinner for a month. PLUS I had a lot of fun

My family and I had the best day fishing with Sharkys Charter! Our guides Lee and Cylus are very knowledgeable and hosted an amazing trip, going out of their way to make sure we caught big quality fish! Highly recommend chartering with Sharkys, it’s absolutely worth it! Thank you for the great experience!

Me and 4 family members did the all rockfish charter. The way out was a bit sketchy, but the captain was a pro. We finally got out there and all reached limit. They were very helpful on having the fish cleaned by a local (2$/fish), we boxed it up and flew it home to Va. Definitely recommended

Well, Davy Jones locker, a local gas station, said they would be open at 5am, and at 5:45am no one ever showed up= no breakfast for boat Captains, and no lunches for boat riders who paid for a sack lunch. The crab pods weren’t prepared, but luckily still did great. Our captain Justin was a nice person but never offered us water. We didn’t use bait the whole 4hrs fishing. There was no lock on the bathroom at the sign-in shop and i walked in on someone, awkward. Our 6 hour fishing trip failed to mention that it included the first 45mins signing in and waiting on others to show up and prepping the crab pods. We fished in 3 spots that were close to each other, didn’t catch our fish limit, but the crab pods pulled through and got us our limit!! If you stay in Charleston, the town is really sad and run down.
Things i liked- nice boat, small group, electronic fishing poles with automatic reels. I probably won’t be back for the price they charge.
i had such high expectations and just sad i came home with only 4 fish

I have used this company twice now
I had a wonderful time with captain Silas, so much that I came back for a nice trip out with my mother who came from out of town to visit
We ended up with captain Josh this time and that’s where it all went wrong
This guy is not particularly knowledgeable and could not answer most of the questions that were asked.
Most important he asked my mother (who is a WOC) if she brought gun board the ship
Cause he didn’t want her to put it to his head if she wanted to go back sooner
He then asked if she had bricks in her purse.
He said he was joking and my mom called him out on not having a joking tone nor did he ask this to any other person on the ship.
When I heard this I was livid
I talked to John/Sharky and he defended Josh
Even though he agreed that it was wrong
A simple honest apology would have gone a long way but Josh then said that he was not sorry nor did he do anything wrong and it was our fault for taking his joke wrong
As we walked away Josh was smirking
This company is ok with stereotyping and making people feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed
John/sharky needs to educate those he employs so that this doesn’t happen again
Do I expect it no, this is the same man that has not even put a pLock on his bathroom door though in previous complaints he said he would.
We were already planning out next trip out with them but guess what this town is full of charters
Bottom line if you care about how you are treated NEVER GO TO SHARKYS

Sharkey's is the BEST charter out there - bar none! We went with Captain Silas and First Mate Lee, and we got into the fish!!! There were six of us on board, and all of us limited on halibut (12) and rock fish (30)!!!! There were two large halibut caught, one being a 50 pounder and one being a 65 pounder!! What a day, and what a well-greased machine Sharkey's Charters is! After we caught fish, we returned to port and Leroy and Patty filleted all of our catch! We left with heavy plastic bags full of fillets! You cannot find a more capable and accommodating charter service out there. Ten stars!!

Oh my goodness, my kids and grandkids could not say enough good things about their fishing trip. Captain John was great with the kids, they learned so much and had a wonderful time. Thanks to my brother for making the trip possible, and finding this great charter service. The plus was all the fish and crab they came home with... Amazing.

I've been on two halibut trips with these guys, they have hands down the best knowledge and gear. Customer service was excellent as it was very personal and way better than the other charters I've been on. I'm scheduled for tuna soon and salmon after that and I don't see me ever stopping. Then when you're done, you head over to Leroy's house where he and his lovely wife filet your catch and cook your crab while you swap fishing stories with everyone who came in. It really is a one of a kind PNW experience.

“Amazing owner! John Blanchard and the captains are the best in the business. John and Josh fit me and my uncle in on short notice. Captain Josh definitely went above and beyond 100% to help my uncle fulfill one of his last dreams, as well as mine. In my opinion, the other two fishermen were great, and we had lots of laughs. The boat named Eagle, along with Josh and his deckhand, were fantastic—I couldn’t thank them enough! We limited out on everything. Sharky’s Charter Fishing is the best charter service; they run nothing but the best boats, have professional captains and crew, and are super professional in every aspect. I’ll be going back every time for a charter in this area.”

My brother and I paid for a tuna trip and did NOT get a tuna trip. We were told that you never guarantee a tuna trip but yet you still charge for one??
