Annual Company Golf Event

I am on my company’s activities committee and plan company outings. Sah-Hah-Lee has provided us with food and entertainment for the last several years. It has been easy to coordinate with them and it is one of the few places that offers something for all age groups and diets. Foot golf is great for the Millennials. Standard golf is great for the mature crowd. And the kiddies love putt-putt. We have carnivores, vegetarians, and gluten free employees, and everyone is happy with the menu items. We truly love the event every year. On occasion the rain makes it even more of an adventure.

Rude worker
Apr 2017 • Friends
I pulled up in a very happy mood and excited to play some golf, and went into store to pay, and also to get bashed on by "driving to fast in the parking lot". I was going about 5-10 mph as usual in a parking lot but I guess it was to fast. The lady then said "Next time you can just pull a u-turn and leave" followed by other rude comments. However, besides the rude staff the course is a great course to play and well maintained.

We played 9 holes yesterday evening. Had a great time. The course is easy and works perfect for my wife and daughter who are just learning the game. They had a large juniors tournament that was running slower than normal so a manager from the club house can and talked to each group and gave them recommendations as to which hole to move to next to get ahead of them. As it turned out he cleared it out for us as well. We were not playing fast our selves so we never caught up to the juniors. Two issues we did run in to was a group of foot golfers that had about 9 socker balls in play. They were having fun but for some reason the golf course has the foot golfers tee off from the same tees as the golfers and the holes are placed is such a manner that if you are golfing you have to wait for them to clear before you can tee off. The other places I have seen foot golf they use completely different tees and the holes are way off of of the golfing line. As it was we let them play through but they were so slow because 9 balls in play it would take them for every to finish a hole. One other issues is the sand traps, There is almost no sand or it is so compacted that it is like hitting off concrete with a 1/4" layer of sand. It was a warm day but very comfortable temps about the trees.

I love the first shot off the cliff
Jul 2015 • Friends
This golf course is beautiful as the Clackamas river flow right against it's banks. I love the first tee box that shoots straight off the cliff, so fun to watch your ball sail through the air. In summer time during the full moons they offer glow in the dark golf, it's a shot gun start and the green balls start flying. Make sure and bring some bug repellant or you may get eaten alive with the skeets.

Lessons and Fun
Jul 2014 • Couples
As a beginner golfer I had the honor of taking group lessons at Sah-Hah-Lee with Nick P., one of the Apprentice Pro's. To say a few words about Nick - patient and always positive, gracious and encouraging. He corrects little things that need correcting, but allows a person to develop a swing that works. He gives advice on clubs, but again, it's an individual endeavor. For the lessons, we always started right on time and used every minute. The young man in the club house also was very friendly and helpful. I don't have my own clubs, so I used rentals at no cost for the lessons. Sah-Hah-Lee is a woodsy, peaceful and quiet course; Par 3, 18 holes. Location is also convenient. Cost is very reasonable.

Good course, bad service
Jul 2014 • Friends
I found the course to be very well maintained. However, the course was not well managed, as it was overly-congested. I got to the course only to find out I had to wait an hour to even get a tee time. When I finally got to start playing, it took me 3 hours to play nine holes because there were so many people on the course.

Dave, Thanks for the positive review of the condition of the course and more importantly, thanks for making us aware of your displeasure with the pace of play at Sah-Hah-Lee at the time that you came to visit us. At Sah-Hah-Lee we work very hard to make sure every customer has the opportunity to play when possible and try to accomodate thier needs. At times, it seems that the whole world wants to play, when two hours earlier, the course is empty. Therefore, prearranged tee-times give you a guaranteed spot and have priority over walk-on clients. If you are a walk-on client, we work hard to get you on the course in a reasonable time or let you know that it will be a long wait. As for the pace of play, we have some days where the course gets full, and moves at a somewhat slower pace, but be assured that we work very hard at keeping the play moving, and teaching newer golfers to either pick up the pace or pick up the ball and move along. Lastly, I am unaware if you talked to anyone at the Pro Shop after your round about your displeasure, and what kind of response you recieved, but let me assure you that if the course was anywhere near as slow as you said, we would have made it right to you. Therefore give me a few more details (what day-time) you played, did you have a prearranged tee-time, who you talked to, etc. and I would love to have you back out to Sah-Hah-Lee on a quieter day to enjoy a round of golf. Sincerely, Steve Lisac-Owner, General Manager
