Great spot!

Beautiful quiet well-kept park with very friendly hosts. Ample and fairly private campsites with good balance of sun and shade. Restrooms were immaculately maintained with soap towels and running water. Large area for dog play. Great trails and wonderful spots along the river. Very peaceful. Had our choice of sites with no reservation on a Sunday. Lots of birdsong.

Beautiful waterfall hike
Jul 2017
This is a very beautiful park with some history. Back in the late 1800's people traveled by horse and buggy to get to this location because of the healing waters. Now the healing waters have been shut off and people use the area for camping, picnicing and hiking. There are also caves to explore nearby that Native Americans used for millenia. The hike to Soda Falls is a fairly easy one surrounded by old growth forest.

Late fall hike in beautiful park.

My husband and I had a great time exploring Cascadia State Park. Our college age granddaughter had been there and recommended it for us to see and explore Oregon. The huge trees and many types of moss and ferns were beautiful and abundant. This is a temperate rain forest. We were lucky to be able to visit a tropical one on Maui, but both are equally amazing!! Since it was late in the season, only the trails were open for day use.

Ok falls, maybe better in spring

The hike is a bit tougher than you might think, but not overly so. The stream, if full, would create pretty good falls, but in August, not so much. I would give it another try but won't make it a priority or anything.

Nice waterfall and well maintained trail.

Came her for a morning hike with the family.

Parked and walked through the campsites which seemed nice.

The trail to the Soda Creek Falls is about a mile each way. Pretty steep on the way up, but myself, my pregnant wife and two young kids did it without much struggle.

The falls itself is not the most spectacular you will ever see, but none the less the trail, the peacefulness of the area and your surroundings make it worthwhile.

Nice and big, level playing areas.

We camp one place then check out all the other camping areas for 50 miles around. We were staying at Fall Creek Reservoir and drove up to the McKenzie looking at places to hike. Most of the McKenzie is National Forest, so the camping areas tend to be more primitive. We were impressed by the variety of spaces in this park. It is near Eugene, so nearby family could come do campfire with us then go home!

This is raw nature, not glamping

A lovely "natural" camp ground. No electricity, or running water in your camp site.
Dry camping at its best.
But there is water near each site and flush toilets and showers. No WiFi, and phone service good luck.

Composting toilets are near the entrance which many drivers know about, they get used as a rest stop. They can get smelly over a long weekend, the trick is closing the lid each time, so it can work right.

We have been camping here each summer for over 20 years. We go for the quiet, to hear the wind in the trees, the song of the creek as it tumbles down to the river. The waterfall, the swimming holes, the hiking trails. The ravens calling, the woodpeckers knocking and the chipmunks dashing through the ferns.
So UN plug put your feet up and relax.
Cheers

Fun place to take the family!

Went to this campground by accident. My lady and I had been driving for hours with our kids trying to find a place to camp on a, not supposed to be too busy, weekend.

We were met by the camp hosts, Bill and Vicki, at 9:30pm and I must say, THEY WERE AAAAWESOME!!!

They found us a place to camp, checked in on us during our stay, kept us supplied with some much needed firewood, AND Vicki put on a Junior Ranger activity for the kids, and Bill set up his telescope so people staying in the park could see Saturn! It was truly awesome!

This park has EXCELLENT restroom and shower facilities; all of which are kept clean and well stocked. Each camp site is also cleaned after every departure. (I know this because I saw Bill cleaning them after our neighbors left)

The trails are great, the hike to the waterfall is great, but most of all, the flat rock areas down by the river are sooooo much fun!! The kids loved it and had a BLAST!!

We are definitely coming back! It turned out to be one of the best accident camping adventures we've had! Highly recommend it!!

Smells like poop - AVOID!
Jul 2015 • Friends
I am still trying to get the smell of this place out of my clothes, my tent and my car. The outhouses, which are never cleaned, should be closed altogether since they have modern restrooms...which were also never cleaned for the 3 days I was there, and 2 of them had feces on the floor in FRONT of the toilet. The strong odor of the outhouses wafting everywhere really ruined the experience for me. Because of that I really don't have anything positive to say. I won't be back.
