My husband and I dropped in for a tasting. We selected the :$10 tasting which gave us a good sampling of wines. The wines were good and the people were friendly and knowledgeable. It was a nice experience.

Cartlon Cellars is a great up and coming winery! The location is really convenient--walking distance from the Horseradish. We loved all of the wine. And the prices are great. Dave Grooters, the owner and winemaker, was onsite and personally gave us a wine tasting. We really enjoyed the wine and look forward to going back!

Lovely people who organise a great tasting. Been tasting wines for a while, but this was the first time I had tasted Auxerrois. Originating in Alsace and a sibling of Chardonnay it is normally a blended grape, but in this instance straight up Auxerrois - a pleasant wine and different. Produce wines under the Carlton Cellar and K&M labels. We tasted both - 6 from Carlton and 3 from K&M - nice wines and good Pinots at great prices. Definitely one for the Carlton wine tour.

Many Willamette Valley wineries seem to be a little full of themselves, with swanky tasting rooms and over-priced wine, but Carlton Cellars isn't one of them. This was our second stop on an afternoon of wine tasting in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. We liked it much better than the very expensive winery we visited first. Personal attention was the key to our happiness. The tasting room is small with two, stand-up bars that offer just enough room for 2 - 4 people each. Our tasting room host gave us personal attention despite the fact that there was a cellar club event going on at the same time as our visit. There were 7 wines on the tasting sheet and she went back and brought out two more that she thought we would like. She also took the time to give us a lesson in tasting techniques. Definitely above and beyond! We found many of the wines to our liking and came home with bottles of Road's End and Estate Pinot Noir, both from the fabulous 2012 vintage. The wines we tasted were very reasonably priced at between $14 to $45. Plus, the $10 tasting fee was waived with a $30 purchase.

This is a great way to wine taste all the fabulous wines from Carlton. They just hosted an event that had 20 tastings from 5 cellars that were all AMAZING. Everything was very different and the feel was relaxed and enjoyable. You were able to meet the wine makers and sit and enjoy a glass of your favorite wine outdoors or inside.
If you are a wine club member of any of the wineries in that area, you got in free, which was a great perk!

We stopped in and were greeted by Brandon and two co-workers (K-9). We passed the smell test so the two co-workers went back to their normal jobs (one was managing the barrel room and the other was sunbathing on the lawn). Carlton Cellars is known for their reds but we were only interested in whites. Brandon made us a custom white flight and started pouring. We found 3 different ones we liked and purchased them. Brandon then made us a list of other wineries in the area that he felt would be plus for us to visit. When we purchased the 3 bottles the tasting fee was waived (unlike Carlton Winemakers Studio). When all done, Brandon then gave us a small tour of the barrel room and then took us to another winery and helped us get started in our hunt for whites. We will return.

If you're wine tasting in Oregon, be sure not to miss this one! Our host Brandon was a wealth of information about the local culture, grapes and wine. He even took us outside to the petting vines! We travel alot and manage to visit wineries when we're in the area, and this was by far one of the best.
