We went all over the state seeing all kind of amazing things. But this was our very favorite activity. SO fun!! The whole family could participate- even our 4 year old (although he's unusually tall- maybe it would be easier for 5-6 year olds). We only wish we'd had them out for more time!

We rented recumbent bikes from this shop and rode them along the beach. We had a ton of fun riding them! The gentlemen at the shop were helpful and informative. Since this was our first time riding this type of bike, we did have a few questions and they were very patient and thorough with us. We were so glad we tried these bikes, as they were super enjoyable to ride!

rented 4 bikes for my family thinking they'd be pretty easy to ride and they are depending on your level of coordination. I was thinking these would be like big wheel but the steering is really with your legs by shifting your weight. I was able to pick it up pretty quick and my 6 yr old daughter got going on hers as well. The downside is you rent the bikes a block up from the entry of beach and then have to push it out to the area you can actually ride them. Overall you'll probably be done after about 30 mins of riding as there's not a ton to see past haystack rock.

This must be a seasonal operation which does not clearly post available hours at business site. There is a white board in the window that states rental rates, that the business is closed on Sundays and to call to schedule an appointment. Apparently same day appointments are not available, which is not posted. The phone number for the business must be a personal phone number, as it is answered unprofessionally and custer service skills are lacking. I was rudely told that i did not make reservations enough in advance and was not given a reference as to an appropriate time frame with which to make reservations. Do not plan on being able to utilize this business on a short notice trip made based on a sunny and clear weather report. I will not patronize this business again and will not recommend them. I will find other rentals in the future.

People told me this was going to be great and I love biking, but the experience was overrated. The staff guy was wonderful and explained everything but it was downhill (or I wish it really had been down a hill) from there.
First it is a small pain to drag your bike a quarter mile through a storm drainage to the water's edge. Then there's a ton of friction so it's nothing like riding a bike. You coast for maybe 5 feet before stopping instead of the long enjoyable coasting on a road. Then whenever you cross streams or get close to the water it's like riding through molasses. If you do stop it's a pain to get going again. Worst the dogs are too curious and one big dog chased us for a long time which put my 9yr old daughter in tears for most of the return trip. So much for "under voice control" - people keep your dogs on leashes!
We were easily able to bike past MO's and back in the 90 min. $18 per person is too much considering the beat up state of the bikes.

While visiting Cannon Beach we stopped by Family FUNcycles and rented two bikes for 90 minutes..... After the attendant gave the tips on riding the bikes we walked them down to the beach to start our adventure!
Once we got our balance it was easy to cover a lot of ground to explore the beach. The challenge was to attach our backpacks to the cycles - it would be helpful if the bikes had a basket in the rear of the bike....

My 14 yo son saw these 3 wheel bikes and had to try them. I was reluctant as was my 12 yo but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit. They are a little awkward to start but a blast once you get going. Cannon Beach is king so it was a fun option to go from the north end down to Haystack Rock and beyond.
More about my reluctant 12 yo- he was feeling passive and wanted us to put him in a toddler cart to be pulled- lol! The guy at funcycles - wish I remembered his name- talked him into trying it and promised him a comic book at the end. It worked and my kid had a blast!! What great customer service

Such a fun way to experience Cannon Beach! Excellent customer service. My husband and I love active vacations, and this was a great workout, in addition to a great way to see all that Cannon Beach has to offer.

Very easy process to get the bikes, tons of fun. Highly recommended! Make sure you watch the tide tables because times to ride depend on them.

Thank you for the support, and for highlighting the experience's sensitivity to the tides cycle. Low tides offer unique funcycle riding opportunities!

Our large, combined family rented funcycles for an hour and a half. You want to pick a low tide time so there is more beach to ride on with hard packed sand. Parking can be a little tricky on busy weekends, but there is public parking across the street. The bikes can only be ridden on the beach, so you'll have to walk them down to the sand. We had all ages from 9 to 77 riding and enjoying themselves. They have large size bikes which is helpful for our group which includes several over 6 feet tall, and they have kid-sized bikes as well. We try to rent the cycles whenever we visit Cannon Beach. Friendly, helpful staff. They also sell comic books and trading cards.

When is it a good time (am, noon or even) to ride the bikes considering the tides and people…lol?
