The Coaster Theatre Playhouse has entertained thousands of visitors and locals of Cannon Beach and Oregon's North Coast.

Maurie Clark opened the Coaster Theatre in 1972. He supported it with his time, talent and financial resources. Upon his death in 2001, the Coaster Theatre became a not-for-profit theatre. Each year the Coaster Theatre produces 5 plays and 2 musicals as well as inspiring young actors with our Coaster Kidz spring, summer and winter camps.

With the support of our wonderful volunteers, sponsors, donors and patrons we will continue to offer quality community theatre in the heart of Cannon Beach.

We've gone to a couple of plays there in the past few years and they always deliver an entertaining program. It's a small venue, so there really are not any bad seats. The cost is extremely reasonable. They always seem to put on a quality show and it is a great way to spend an evening in Cannon Beach.

A lighthearted Broadway comedy ("The Gramercy Ghost") from the '30s nicely performed; a theater in a historical building in a beach town creating an enjoyable atmosphere; all this following an early dinner at Sweet Basil's Cafe made for a delightful evening. [Btw, if you like local theater, I'd recommend Kurt Vonnegut's "Who am I this Time?" if you haven't read... More

Coaster has great plays. You will be surprised that such a small town can offer so many high quality plays & such a full schedule. Visitors should check out the playbill as soon as they arrive in town to see the latest offerings. You won't be disappointed/

We always love the theater here. They put on a good performance, even though it is a small operation. Highly recommended for an evening in Cannon Beach.

We seen "A funny thing happened on the way to the forum" while in Cannon Beach. the family enjoyed it, the actors were excellent and the singing was superb. The theatre itself is very comfortable and for $23 per head you can't go wrong. I seen Wicked in the west end London a few weeks ago and I have to... More

Talented actors with one of the best renditions of this live play we've seen. Seen the same play in San Francisco, New York and Chicago and this certainly is just as good.

Spent a nice Sunday evening seeing A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to The Forum. Cast was funny and talented. Seats were comfy and theatre was just the right size. If you're staying in the Cannon Beach area, go see a show!

Went to a matinee, fun times. The theatre is so personal and the actors were good. It was a fun way to spend a rainy day.

This is such a fun event to go to if you are in CB during a weekend and they also offer some Sunday matinees. It's a cozy, close theatre...and no bad seats. It really is great fun and the 'talent' is really very good. Well worth the time and expense.

Very unique plays, each one with many performances. Check with the Coaster for an annual schedule of performances, you'll be glad that you did.
