Beautiful family owned winery

I have been coming here for years and have enjoyed it each time. The location is lovely, with a little pond on site. I find the staff (mostly family) friendly and helpful. I... read more

How anyone could give a nasty review needs to be on antidepressants! This place is fantastic...full of character....great family help...hilarious wine tour....it was so great we bought a case of great wine and WE WILL BE BACK! Never been here before but super impressed at how a bakery person managed to turn 180 degrees years ago and starred about the... More

There was a lot of what can only assume are regulars here when we went. The wine was decent, but out of the 7 we tried and four of us. I was the only one who went home with one. Atmosphere: Casual, German style decor, eclectic landscape, there is a swamp that I think was once a pond but needs... More

Every year we go to the spectacular grape stomp event - usually the 3rd weekend in September. Such a great atmosphere and the band is absolutely awesome: The Donaumusikanten's from Germany. Saw them at the Mt Angel Oktoberfest years ago and have been attending this event at St Josef's ever since. Joe, Lilly, Tara and Karl are all awesome and... More

This was our 3rd visit to our "local winery" Always enjoy talking to the family members, and of course : Josef himself. The tasting room is fun and relaxed. This winery offers outstanding vintages from Pinot to Riesling at reasonable price points. Their reserve label is "Katara" and you won't be disappointed if you are interested in something more refined.... More

My husband and I, along with a friend, have spent time dropping in here. On my first visit with my husband, we sampled wine and also purchased three bottles to take home. The woman working behind the counter was oddly cold to us, but when one of the actual owners came through, things became friendlier. I will note that the... More

We like to go to the Oktober Fest at St. Joseph's. Band, food, grape stomps. Lots of fun. Also good for music. Wine isn't to my taste, but then I'm not an expert. I like it best for stuff other than wine

We stopped here for a wine tasting (were really looking for fresh corn but couldn't find any). The people were very friendly, and we even talked to the owner for a while. We like best the Pinot Gris and the red Kitara vineyard syrah. The wine club was having an event later that day, and the food looked very good.

Wines were good and cheap! Winery was attractive and the place wasn't too overcrowded so it was beautiful place to relax!

There are a lot of wineries that make good wine in the area. Not all have friendly people, and a great atmosphere. I have been here several times. They make a great riesling, and many great reds! The owners and family are often working, and you can speak directly to them, and have conversation. They have many great stories to... More
