Beautiful little paradise of a beach

Read a review of this place so decided to go visit. What a beautiful beach with rocks, tide pools and a wonderful place for a dog to snoop around. Loved it.

Exciting Wave Action, Pet Protocal
Sep 2019
We exited hiway 101 at the turn out and drove down the hill where there is an information sign and "outdoor" restrooms. The path to the left led to a trail that was a little dicey at the bottom. The path to the right led to a couple places where there is a more gradual decline. The path to the right also led to picnic tables and a section of the Coastal Trail that goes up to Cape Ferello, beware... there is a stream to cross. The sign clearly states KEEP DOGS ON LEASH. It was kind of an overcast but balmy day. The tide was coming in but there was still plenty of beach. The ocean was rough, Pounding waves crashed into the rock formations and kind of made my heart skip a beat. It also created great photo ops. Our little 8 lb dog was with us and as we walked the beach 2 travelers came down the path with huge dogs, off leash. We were going to ignore them and walked quickly toward the left area of the beach but one of the dogs left their group and began to approach us. I got the owner's attention and asked them to get their dog. They shouted to the dog but the dog ignored them and continued to approach us. Bottom line is this, dogs are unpredictable. We think they are well trained and then something happens. I have been knocked down by large playful dogs. I have seen friendly big dogs jump up on little old ladies. I have had friends little dogs suffer broken bones and months of misery for owner and pet as a result of play with big dogs. (The $5000. vet bill was no fun either.) When going to a public beach area dogs must be leashed. After the owners finally got control of their dog we walked for about 5-10 minutes to the left (facing the ocean) away from where most people were congregated and found a spot where there were no other people or pets. We let our dog run off leash and when we saw people coming we quickly put the leash back on. When we are around other people and pets we keep her on leash. It's just a safe and considerate thing to do.

This had not been on our original list of places to see on our trip, but saw it in a motel brochure and decided to check it out. It turned out to be one of our favorite stops Definitely go at low tide as it has some great tide pools and more star fish than anywhere else we've found at local beaches.

Awesome beach for tide pooling!
May 2019 • Family
We went to Lone Ranch Beach yesterday with teenagers & our 7 year old. We were sure to go at low tide so to have the best tide pooling. It was excellent. We found crabs, star fish, sea anemones, etc. There were lots of rocks to climb on & lots to explore. We really had a wonderful time!

Nice beach area
May 2019 • Couples
It was pretty breezy today but it was still a beautiful location. Easy walk down to the beach and there are several picnic table available for you to use. The path down is paved and would be wheelchair accessible. How can you go wrong at the Oregon coast?

Spectacular views. Rock formations are fun to name. Walking on the beach and traveling south around and over the rocks you come to an area where the sea lions are basking in the warm sun. Good beach for digging clams. Great beach for a wedding.

Surrounded by rocks and driftwood
Jul 2018 • Couples
It was amazing! In the ocean, there were lots of boulders. On the beach there was a lot of driftwood. It was attractive!

There were some nice boulders in the ocean. Too bad that it was so far!

However, nearby, there were huge boulders to explore. That was fun!

After we explored everything we sat at a picnic table and enjoyed the views.

This was my favorite attraction.

This is a must see!
