This beach does not have any facilities for changing. The beach has both sandy and rocky areas. We were looking for sea life in tidal pools and found some amongst the rocks.

My daughter and I were in Medford on the way to a softball tournament when we decided to make the drive to the Oregon coast to see it for the first time. After a winding but scenic 2 hour drive we arrived in Brookings. After a quick search of local beaches we saw the nice reviews of this beach and... More

Go down off HWY 101 to access Lone Ranch Beach, 4 miles north of Brookings Oregon. After parking - walk toward beach and water then go left away from the picnic tables and people - there is a lovely area there with tide pools at low tide and a rock strewn beach much different from the other beach here. Swallows... More

What I most loved about this beach was how many scenic options there were. Being a photographer I could really appreciate all the seastacks and head lands that you could explore here. And best of all, not many people. There are both paved pathways and also many hiking trails. A win win in my book!

Just a short walk to the beach, the Lone Ranch Beach is a great beach for exploring at low tide as there are lots of rocks at the water level. There are picnic tables with a beautiful view of the beach.

Very few people were there when we took a walk this morning. There are several larch picnic tables looking out over the beach. I looked for activity in the tide pools but they were unpopulated except for 1 small skate and some barnacles. Still the rocks and lovely walkable beach were wonderful.

A nice place to start your OCT trek, or just visit the beach for the day. Unlike the Northern Coast, you are unlikely to find Lone Ranch crowded, even at the height of the season.

This beach has easy access to the ocean and many rocks to look under and around. Beautiful views too.

One of my favorite beaches to take my dog for a walk, or just to enjoy by myself, exploring tide pools or watching the waves, great for taking photos.
