We go to Brookings twice a year and never knew about this beach. It is a hidden gem! The dog park is huge! (we don't have dogs) We went just for the beach combing. There are two paths down to the beach that we saw. One is a home made one that wasn't too easy but if you look to the left there is a better one. The beach is really pebbly and we found a good amount of sea glass! Nothing huge but lots of pieces. The Beach is not that far off 101 as some have said and its close to the harbor too. Maybe a few miles.

This spot was our favorite activity this weekend. There are a couple ways to get down to the beach. A hard way and an easy way. We didn't see the easy way until we were down on the sand. So...the trail back up was great. Hahaa. This is the PERFECT spot for treasure hunting. No fine sand here but a plethora of small tumbled rocks, shells and great driftwood. My daughter found 4 pieces of sea glass and I found a fossilized pinecone. The tide pools are fun to explore too.

This is a small, little known beach just south of Brookings. It's remarkable for being a pebble gravel beach. Very little sand. Lots of seaweed and kelp. I think the allure is the tide pools, and it's just a cool natural area to visit. Not your typical beach. We found no beach glass, however, just smooth gavel. There is no address for this place, so you either enter the coordinates in your Garmin or ask Google Maps to take you there. We actually drove past the poorly marked entrance the first time. Hint: drive south on Oceanview Drive and look for Seagull Lane. That's the entrance. From the parking lot, there are two ways down to the beach - the steep way and the not-as-hard way. The not so hard way is on the left as you look towards the beach. There are few people here - mostly locals.

After a short walk down a medium steep trail, we found a beautiful pebble beach with easily accessible tide pools and sea glass hidden among the rocks. The beach is not swimmable in winter (and maybe not ever, only been there in winter). The park area above has a fenced dog run, clean port-a-potty and some picnic tables. The view is gorgeous. Worth a peek.

My husband and I stumbled upon this place on a trip down 101. We were pleasantly surprised at how cool it was. It was fun to explore around in some of the tide pools as low tide. And the best part was all the glass that washes up on the beach there. You can see all the different colors of glass. My suggestion would be to not wear sandles because all the tiny pieces of glass get under your feet. The glass is not sharp, but definitely unpleasant under bare feet.

What a fabulous dog-friendly gem. You can take your dogs for a romp on a rather secluded beach or take them to the 1+ acre fenced in dog park. It's quite a drive from 101 to this park so there were hardly any people. It even had a clean port-a-potty!

Love this beach to just sit and pic through the rocks looking for special ones. It's a little tricky getting down to the beach from the parking area and due to the size of the rocks it's not really a walking beach. If you're into looking for agate, beach glass and just pretty stones don't miss this beach.

Fabulous beach to take kids if they are interested in seeing the tide pools at low tide. Lots of beautiful rocks, who doesn't take home a few rocks from the beach? Seals near by and you can still find some sea glass.

Named for the huge rock nearby, this small day-use park has a great lawn area for children to run and play. It's tucked away off Hwy 101, so most visitors don't know it's here.
Access to the beach is along a trail down the side of the bluff, although we did not go down to the beach when we stopped by. There are nice ocean views from the park.
The beach here is pretty and there were a number of people walking along it. The park is free and there is adequate parking in the gravel lot. It's located on Oceanview drive, south of the river.

Nice place to search for sea glass. Not easy to find but four of us found 5-6 pieces as we walked along for about an hour. Relaxing just to walk along and listen to the waves crash into the rocks.

Go down to the harbor and there is a great public beach where the RV park is. Handicap parking and ramps right down to the sand!

How do you find the easy way down?

Both trails are to the right of the circle parking lot. The "easier one is further south. It does have 3 steps with the last step being about a foot and a half tall. The trail has a few narrow areas with a couple tripping hazards like tree roots. But it is a shorter less steep option. We were there 2 days ago. It was so nice and we found 10 pieces of sea glass. Yay!
