The current is a lot slower than it was, and this was a fun and beautiful day to enjoy the water and Mother Nature!

Took a beautiful ride along the south bank of the Chetco River past the Azalea Park. Road narrows and turns windy but the river access is amazing . As are the colorful river rocks.

Our family loves this river. I grew up in Boring, Oregon and played as a child in the Clackamas River. However, it isn't as clear of water or warm as the Chetco River. Our children had so much fun swimming, floating on a raft and catching salamanders from the bottom of the river. Just drive your vehicle up to the river shore and pop open a drink and you are going to have one of your best days relaxing. If it is cold at the beach, just head up river and it should be 10 degrees warmer. What a peice of paradise and beauty Brookings, Oregon locals have in their own city. Truely blessed.

This is a lovely clean river. Great place to hike around, plenty of camp grounds in the area. You can tube all the way down to the ocean in Brookings.

Known for the spectacular fishing, we also love his beautiful river for its color and freshness and the fact we are blessed to live on the banks near Brookings. Drift boats and kayaks, along with seals and ducks and otters are a daily experience.

Live close by so cross it often. Don't get much chance to see the river as we are usually driving by, but have stopped a few times to look.
