It's a small restful park. A truly good place to enjoy all year. But truly great things happen there. Spring the flowers are amazing , summer good concerts happen there, but Christmas is the best. Sponsors set up a great Holiday light show. The entire...More

Just got home from a visit to the park at night to see the light festival. Truly amazing! There are walkways though out the park and over a million colored light displays. There is Christmas music playing and stands to get hot chocolate and cookies....More

For a $2 donation you can see a family friendly Christmas light display. There are the usual Christmas decorations plus sea life displays, flying insects, flowers, and pole creatures.

There was ample parking, as well as restrooms. The kids liked this park, as they had a beautiful and immense playground. The entrance was grandiose. We saw lots of beautiful flowers. Everything was well maintained. The wooden benches were blue. There was a statue about...More

It was not a traditional, city botanical garden, more like a park with a couple of churches in it. Pretty view, restrooms, and ample parking but it was not worth the day's excursion out of the way. Good for a rest stop with added attraction...More

I stop here frequently. You can take a short stroll along paved paths or a longer trek on trails. There are bathrooms and adequate parking.

Flowers amazing even for the time of year we were there.I can imagine spring would be the best time to go there. Nice place to take a leisurely walk.

This is a lovely park for a stroll to see the rhododendrons in bloom (May) or just enjoy the mature plants. At Christmas it's decked out to the max with lights. It's always a pleasant place to visit and hear a concert.

Questions on Richmond Hill Park and Azalea Park (5 Replies)
Hello All - I am looking for some information on Richmond Hill Park and Azelea Park. We are passing through Asheville on our way to Hilton Head in early June and are looking for a place to stop for an hour or so and have a picnic lunch and let the kids play for a while. I am looking for a play ground and nice open spaces for the kids to run. A picnic shelter is a bonus. What we usually do is everyone leaves at the around the same time, but through the trip we all get separated, so we pick a...More

Azalea Park is nice. There is a big playground with a very large wooden playground structure that intertwines with slides, swings, etc. that our 6 year old and his friends love, a few covered eating areas, ball fields and it is away from traffic. There are usually soccer games going on that are fun to watch as well. Relaxing, a lot of room to run around, and nice big parking lots. I think there are plans to add more to this park in the future, but none of it seemed under construction when I...More

This is going to be the byword for the next week or two, as code for the Magic vs. the Lakers. Yes, the Magic are back in the NBA Finals! Already this phrase was in the Fox Sports article about the game. Sorry Cleveland. Better luck next year. I'm not going to pretend I'm the biggest Magic fan ever, but I'm happy to jump on the bandwagon, lol! And I certainly have absolutely been rooting for them. But I think of guys like Bruce, a guy I worked with who was a super nice guy but also a big...More
