This was a great outing for our group. It was a nice drive, but it was the destination that made it worthwhile. Photo opportunities in all directions and a great trail that walks along the lake and past giant boulders and through the trees. Next time we will bring a kayak, this would be a great way to explore the... More

A shallow and interesting lake to paddle by kayak, canoe or SUP. A large marshy area to pass near often has many red wing and yellow wing blackbirds. Trout can be easily seen in the shallow water. One large open area, and the whole lake, is fed by Quinn Creek, It is possible to paddle up the creek to a... More

We love to canoe and fish at Hosmer lake. We go there at least one or two times a month through the summer to paddle and fish. For the water adventure enthusiast, any sort of paddle board, kayak, pontoon boat, etc. will work on the lake. We like to paddle all the way up to Quinn Creek on the north... More

This lake is super busy before 4pm so if you want a quiet trip to the waterfall (which is well worth it) wait till late afternoon to put your board or boat in the water. Clear clear lake, lots of fish and wildlife. Beautiful views.

Great Lake except people were talking on cell phones in speaker mode. Nobody used there library voices, voice carried across the lake. Tired of hearing about diets, recipes, who is mad at who, gossip gossip, gossip...enough! A wonderful place to enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery that Central Oregon has to offer and we were surrounded by people who... More

Fantastic lake to kayak on. Beautiful scenery everywhere you look. This was our very first kayak trip with our new kayaks, so we were rookies. The only complaint was the launch area was very tight, and we were very lucky to get a place to park, but that is to be expected on a Saturday in the middle of summer.... More

We have kayaked here several times. This last trip we took our grown son and a paddle board. He loved it! I love how much this one lake has to offer: the visible fish, mama ducks and ducklings, the deep water, stream through the reeds, big expansive views with shallow clear water, and lastly the fun stream up to the... You must paddle Hosmer! Fabulous mountain views, lots of flora and flying fauna, fish below you in crystal clear water, and the peace and quiet of a "no motors" lake. The road to Hosmer is good and easy to get to. The launch can be a bit tight, especially now. Currently (7/2016) nearby Sparks Lake (another great paddling lake) is... More

We had heard so many locals talk about this lake. We were so excited and then we got there and thought...what? This is not a wide open lake. It seemed tight and filled with fishermen..well we were already there so we decided to put the SUP's in the water and give it a whirl. We paddled through the lily pads... More

There is so much space to kayak around Hosmer. We kayaked 5.1 miles today. We kayaked up to the Falls, we had to navagate around some downed logs. And one area where we were headed to the falls was really shallow. The views of Mt. Bachelor are gorgeous. Breathtaking actually. As for fish, they weren't where we thought they would... More
