Great place to kayak!

This is a great place to kayak! It also has many trails for hiking and go further than the pavement and the hiking is really great!

Note that the lake is about 2miles down a dirt road from the main Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway. It's worth driving down there. Nice scenic walking path around the lake.

Sparks Lake is a kayak and paddle boarder's paradise, and there aren't any motorized boats allowed. The water is cold early in the summer, so there aren't a lot of people tubing or swimming, except for a few kids and my husband. Its a great place to go camping. Even though Sparks Lake is popular it never feels overcrowded because... More

We drove to Bend, Oregon from Texas just so we could tent camp and hike the Bend area. It was a tough drive. It took us three days of driving to get there. A friend (local to Bend) told us to check out Sparks Lake. We did, however when we went unfortunately the campgrounds were closed. So we camped just... More

We chose to kayak this beautiful lake midweek and early morning to beat the crowds. Launching by 7am and finishing at noon. Glad we did! We were the only people on the lake for the first hour or so then more and more people started showing up. By the time we left, the launch was crowded and hectic. Views of... More

Some friends and I attempted to go to Sparks Lake last October only to find it had dried up. Second tries the charm. It was 56 degrees, and wonderfully sunny. I stopped in real quick after hiking Green Lakes, and did a quick loop on the Ray Atkenson Memorial Trail. If I had not been so tired, would have put... More

We spend the day laying on the beach and floating in the water. You can beat the view either! The place was packed, but we found a place and it was so worth it. Looks like a great place to canoe or kayak too!

Lovely walk/hike filled with sensory delights and photo ops at every turn. You won't be the only person there, but you will feel like it. Pristine lake, stately trees, and rugged mountains. Take a deep breath and say "ahhhh."

Unbelievable views, clear & shallow water with sculptural rock outcrops and views. Arrive early or late - parking lot is crowded middle of the day.
