We did the morning canoe trip with Jen and she was fantastic! She is very knowledgeable on all facets of the trip and I highly recommend her. The one-star deduction is not because of Jen but because the company was unwilling to let us drive to the lake separately. We had a 5 year old that can't get the vaccine so we would have preferred to have driven our own car rather than go in the shuttle (where masking is not required). The woman at the store said that would not be possible because of parking permits. However when we got there, there was clearly plenty of parking. At a minimum they should have required everyone in the shuttle to wear masks.

My husband and some friends were in town for a few days. We'd kayaked in the ocean before and were not the biggest fans but thought we'd give this tour a shot. So glad we did! The scenery was absolutely stunning! We kayaked in a calm lake, taking in breathtaking views and listening to our fantastic tour guide Kiana share her vast knowledge of the area. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to kayak but may be hesitant due to the nature of the activity. The lake was a perfect place for a beginner kayaker. You can't beat the views, either. Thanks so much, Kiana, we had a wonderful time with you!

We went on the evening canoe trip with Colton and it was one of the best excursions I've ever done anywhere. You will go to one of the Cascade Lakes to paddle out on the water for sunset, view the wildlife, and explore the area on shore. He provides quality beer, hot chocolate, and pastries. Then you'll go out on the water at dark to see the stars and more evening wildlife. It is a very unique experience.

Thank you very much for the kind words! We are so glad you enjoyed your time out on the water with Colton. It is always so amazing to be on the water as the sun sets and the stars come out! We hope to see you on tour with us again soon.

We set up a tour of the caves online, which was an easy and user friendly experience. Then we showed up and Tristin took over. We had never been in caves so we weren't sure what to expect. Tristin did an excellent job of describing the area we were heading to and had tons of info on the cave itself. I was happily surprised when we got to get down on our hands and knees and even do a little shimmy to get through some smaller tight spots! It was an excellent experience for my wife and I made even better by an outstanding tour guide!

The starlit canoe tour was the highlight of our last trip to Bend! Being on the water at night felt exciting and adventurous. I was a little nervous but our guide Patrick was confident and competent. Patrick was extremely knowledgeable about literally everything, filling the spaces in between quiet paddling and ogling at stars with facts about astronomy, wildlife, geology, and history. And the stars!!! And the sunset!! It was a perfectly clear night with breathtaking visions of natural beauty. I will always remember it.
Additionally, the staff were super flexible over the year and a half of planning this trip. The first time we booked it was late in the season and it snowed! So we ended up moving it to the following summer... then covid happened, so we delayed it to later in the summer. We were finally able to go last weekend and I appreciate the understanding and flexibility! Thank you!

Hi there -
Thank you for spending the time to swing by and provide feedback on your experience - we truly appreciate it!
We are stoked to take you out on tour and experience Central Oregon's night sky byway of canoe.
We look forward to taking you out on another adventure soon, perhaps snowshoeing to a bonfire :)
Cheers!

We were fortunate to have the midnight snowshoe tour all to ourselves and it was one we will never forget. The moon was 99.9% full and the mountain was glowing. Katie was extremely knowledgeable about all things nature. You could tell how passionate she was about her job and the environment she gets to share with guests. She made sure to take frequent stops (we are not used to the altitude being from Minnesota). Half way through, we stopped for hot chocolate and marshmallows and she told us stories (folktale and science) about the constellations and how they came to be/be named. Even if you have never snowshoed before (which we had, but not for a long time), you would love this tour! Highly recommend to anyone who wants a unique experience you cannot get very many places in the world!

The last week of July we did a lava tube tour with Wanderlust Tours - it was excellent! Whereas the lava tubes are free and open to the public so you could go wander through on your own, going with a guide is so much better! We had originally planned to go on our own. Then our son expressed a lot of interest in this so we decided to go with a guide. We are very glad we did. I am sorry I can't remember her name - she knew so much about history, geology, the lava tubes, local legends and lore, and the desert area around the tubes that the tour was fascinating. We walked, crawled, and belly crawled through the cave to get to the end of the tube. We couldn't have asked for a better trip or guide. Definitely worth it!

I went to "In a Landscape" concert on 12/12/20 in Bend. It was great! Very well-organized (as has been my experience in the past with Wanderlust). Not only did I get to hear beautiful music played by Hunter Noak in an outdoor setting, Dave Nissen, Wanderlust owner, took folks on a short walk in Shevlin Commons and talked about the area, primarily the history. All this while enjoying the beauty of the snow-capped mountains!

We took the Moonlight and Starlight canoe trip. We met at a location in Bend and our guide, Madeline drove us to Paulina Lake. Along the way Madeline shared some facts about the area - very informative. After some instruction on best canoeing techniques, we launched and paddled around the lake. The sunset was spectacular and then the stars came out - unbelievable. We even saw some "shooting stars". Madeline shared the names of some of the constellations. Out on the lake we were served beer or hot chocolate and a yummy pastry. All in all, a great trip and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great adventure.

Absolutely wonderful midnight canoe ride with Jen as our guide. Now I can appreciate what all the poems and songs are lauding in their descriptions of “silently paddling across a lake under a moonlit sky”. Can highly recommend for anybody’s visit to Bend!

We are debating doing the starlight canoe tour with my teen and preteen. It says 8pm and it seems like it's a 4 hour tour? Is this something they would be into or would it get too boring after a bit?

What is the cost of the tours and what are my choices of tours available? We will be there 7/3-4,.

Agree with the others, check out their website. The snowshoe tour was around $65 pp, but it included travel to site in snowy weather...I recommend them highly. Reasonable rates and you can also learn a great deal about the area. I highly suggest doing a tour when you first get there to help you learn of other activities in the area that you will be able to do in your own.
