    Great atmosphere with excellent beers
Stopped for a drink whist waiting for check in time to our apartment. We had the 8 beer tasting paddle and left it up to the bartender to choose for us. All the beers were lovely and a great way to spend an hour.

    Very good food, excellent service
There was a 20 minutes wait on Thursday late night, in spite of many empty tables, but I guess short of staff or the kitchen is backed up. Service is very friendly and helpful The pretzel is just amazing. Soft, light, and expensive The muzzles are excellent The bratwurst sandwich has wonderful tasting sauce/dressing The schnitzel is OK, the seasoning is overpowering, we did not enjoy it The beer selection and quality is impressive. Yes, we recommend this restaurant 4 out of 5

    Fun spot in Bend
We visit the Monkless every Summer when we come to visit Bend. We love this place, the outside dining is a favorite spot. We’ve learned over the years to arrive early if we want to be seated quickly. We arrived right at 5 on a Tuesday no problem, 5:45 on a Friday and line out the door (also a concert night). It’s a fun spot, beautiful views and everything we’ve ordered has been tasty. We enjoy getting a flight of beer and the chicken and waffles are a favorite. Staff are also very friendly and help picking out beer to pick out.

This is a fun place, the back pouch outside dining looks out over the river and it’s beautiful! We both enjoyed our meals. This is a popular place and there was a wait time but it’s well organized so getting a drink while you wait is simple enough.

While not a serious connoisseur of fine Belgian Ales I would say the Monkless ales were super tasty. I did the four ale sampler and enjoyed all four. If you do not want to be adventurous, they also carry some of the standard/ well known Belgians such as Chimay.

The indoor/ outdoor, open feel of the restaurant was fantastic and they have many tables for larger groups.

The food was decent but not outstanding. We had the poutine, mussels, sausages, Brussel sprouts amongst other options. The arugula salad was the highlight though, with more than adequate green volume (not a small salad)!

This is infinitely better than it's predecessor in this location. Its geared towards German food and beverages.

We choose to sit inside because of the smokey air. We ordered a variety, soft pretzels, bratwurst, poutine, and schnitzel. It was all very good but one of us felt it leaned too heavy on mustard. They appreciated the ciders.

You must go to the restroom. It's the only one I have ever been in where you have a boy choir (monks?) chanting a version of Ave Maria.

Parking is close, handicapped spaces are available, the facility is one level and can accommodate wheelchairs including in the restroom.

This would be a fun place for a group of folks, inside or on the deck.

We waited be seated for 40 minutes and witnessed a number of empty tables that had been vacant for 10-15 mins. I asked about those available tables and was told they were balancing where people were seated for the servers. Our party of 10 could have been seated, or other smaller parties could have been seated. A waste of time. We could have easily downed a few beverages while seated. This place is poorly managed, they are losing money by not hustling. Never again, I’ll take my business to a Mexican restaurant where service is exemplary.

Scenic location, friendly staff, tasty food and terrific beer selection. If weather permits, sit outside to enjoy the view. We recommend the beer flight, chicken and waffles, pretzel with cheese and the beignets.

My wife and I met another couple here for a late lunch. We sat on the deck overlooking the river. Despite the cold snowy weather, the deck was comfortable with their propane heaters. We all had various dietary restrictions and the menu easily accommodated all of us. Two of us greatly enjoyed the lamb raggout that was excellently prepared. One had the salmon sandwich which was very fresh and flavorful. The other person had the chickpea curry which was warm and filling on a chilly day. The variety of beers was excellent. We tend to prefer the darker beers and they had lots of alternatives to the typical IPAs. A great place to try a variety of good beers and good food.

Great new location in the Mill District, with a large outdoor deck overlooking the river. We visited them in the old location on the east side of town, and this is a serious upgrade. Decent beers, though I prefer more Hazy IPA’s rather than the high alcohol content Belgium style brews. The Belgium food is unusual - especially the Cheese spaetzel. My wife liked her Arugula Pear salad. We each had a flight of 4 beers. Wonderful location and setting.

Great selection of Belgian beers and quality pub food. Definitely recommend the Shepplekofeggan, which is on par with an Allagash White (Portland, Me). Be sure to get the dipping sauces with the French fries.

Very disappointing. The cocktails and American food looked great compared to the German beer and food which is strange for a place like this. Bavarian pretzels seemed like they were boxed from the store and came out luke warm. Beer cheese was excellent. Belgium ales were decent but nothing special. Super slow service although he did apologize and seemed overloaded.

Fantastic location! Excellent customer service! About the beers...Great divergent from the Pacific Northwest IPAs. They specialize in Belgium style beers that ANY monk would be proud of. The Tripel stands out as a great Belgium beer made in the USA. Their Wit beers are delicious and refreshing. If you are a fan of Belgium beers, you MUSt go here!!!
