The campground is good for dry camping. The sites are huge, mosquitoes are plentiful, lake is close by. Several of us kayaked with no issues. The lake appeared beautiful. A few of swam or floated casually in the water. All of us that entered the...More

We drove around this lake as part of the Cascades Lake Scenic Tour. The area had had a lot of rain and snowfall and all the lakes were to the point of overflow. The areas were pristine and the water colors were incredible blue. Since...More

After a respite, we have returned to this body of water because it boasts the biggest trout in the area. It is an absolute delight to hook into 20 inch, 4 lb. rainbows that can pull the rod out of your hand. And you best...More

Ready to go camping? Here is a wonderful area to enjoy the out of doors. Some campgrounds in the area have cold cold cold water to pump out of the ground. Lots of areas where the springs of water just jump out of the ground.

Crane is one of the best still water fishing you will find in Central OR. Plenty of Rainbows to go around. Can get windy. Not much bank fishing but float tubes work great and of course boats.

Once in a lifetime experience. We were driving on the lakes loop highway just west of the northern side of the lake. A sight to behold.

Crane Prarie is a reservoir high in the cascade mountains with crystal clear water and great fishing for bass and trout. Once known as a trophy trout fishery it has been hi-jacked to a bass fishery by unscrupulous fishermen who illegally introduced bass to the...More

We had a great day on the water! Just spectacular, no wind and the water was like glass. We paddled for about 5 miles. There were a few fisherman out, but, there is a speed limit on the water and everyone obeyed it. We especially...More
