My family (ages 13 to mid 50s) have gone on two multi-day backpacking trips with Dan and the Go Wild crew and couldn't recommend it more! Every detail from the flowers/plants/animals you see, understanding the landscape, learning about Native American tales on the lands you're walking, star gazing, gourmet food, crafted cocktails, and hot coffee next to a crackling fire each morning... I could go on and on!
An adventure for a group that wants to disconnect from cell phones and experience the beauty of Eastern Oregon. Whether this is your first backpacking trip or a seasoned hiker (my group had all ranges) Dan guides with seasoned leadership on the trails!
Highly recommend!! Great fun and a tradition for my family now! Thanks Dan!

Dan took us on an 8-day backpacking trip in the Eastern Sierras with pack animal support for two base camps during the week. Agnew Meadows was our entry point. This was Dan's first guided Sierras trip (he's based in Eastern Oregon), but he was well organized and everything went smoothly. He and Lloyd were knowledgeable, flexible, and great to be around. Weeks later we're still sharing photos of the experience -- including shots of the great food. In an effort to find something wrong with the trip, I guess I would recommend a group Zoom a few weeks before departing. There was a lot of information to be conveyed via email, and a few things got lost in the shuffle. Excellent trip overall, and very highly recommended.

I got to participate in Go Wild's 2021 Photography Workshop and it was so memorable! Not only did I learn a lot about photography but also the whole experience was just amazing. Getting to explore Baker City and the surrounding areas made me fall in love with Eastern Oregon. Dan is a fantastic guide, professional and fun to be around. The food provided was delicious, the whole weekend was well-planned, and the memories made will last a lifetime. One of my favorite moments was when we took a little detour just so I could get some pictures of a cool barn in the area after I told the group about my obsession with barns. I loved every minute of this workshop and would do it again in a heartbeat! Thank you for such an awesome photography adventure, Go Wild!!!

Was looking for a great first backpacking adventure for me and my family (wife, tween, and a teen) and Go Wild did not disappoint. So nice to get out and away from the traditional car camping experience and see an absolutely beautiful and relatively unknown part of Oregon. Dan and his crew spoiled us rotten and made sure it was a memorable trip. They take care of the details so you can focus on just having fun.
Fly fishing, diving in a remote mountain lake, great food and conversations. Definitley looking forward to another trip.
Cannot recommend them enough.

I did the Elkhorn Crest hike with GoWild. This is a three day backpacking trip, and I had a wonderful time! The guides were personable and knowledgeable, a real pleasure to spend time on the trail with. When we got in to camp each day they encouraged me to relax and paddle my feet in a cool stream while they attend to all the details of setting up camp. The food they prepared was top notch, and I would not have been disappointed to be served them in a restaurant! Highly recommended!

I can’t think of a single thing that did not exceed expectation. This was our third company retreat with Dan and his team and my second time attending. The attention to detail in planning and execution are flawless. Dan and Caleb have knowledge of the area that is unparalleled and the food is what you would expect at a fine dining restaurant (only under the beautiful western sky).

I had the opportunity to join one of GoWild's camping trips in the Wallowas region of Eastern Oregon. Dan and Kaleb, both of our guides, couldn't have been more knowledgeable, passionate and caring (both for their guests and the environment). The unexpected location was postcard perfect, the food was restaurant worthy and the many lessons learnt are priceless.
While the tents were set for us and the food was a delicacy, GoWild camping trips are camping nevertheless. This might not be your way to go if you are expecting hot showers and mobile signal. If you'd like to explore the lesser known region of Oregon with the greatest naturalist guides and delicious food, I can't thing of a better option.

Wow!! What an incredible experience!! Dan really knows what he is doing folks. My first experience of fly fishing, the weather was cold and wet but these guys were troopers, I got excellent lesson. Fished from the shore and the boat. It was so cold it snowed and I was still able to catch a fish! Arrived back to shore and there was a nice campfire, a warm beverage and a delicious hot meal. Best experience ever!! I will be back :)

Second Adventure was Even Better than the First! Two years ago, my family (adults and teens) went on a backpacking trip with Dan and Go Wild. It was so great that this year I gathered 10 of my favorite women from across the country and we went again this summer .... this time choosing the Upscale version of a hiking and camping adventure (with mules carrying in the supplies, cots to sleep on, etc.) The guides were professional, informative, fun and super patient with our many levels of fitness. It was such a unique, beautiful, amazing experience for all of us thanks to the hard work and careful curating of details that were so thoughtfully added to our guest experience. In addition to the fun and beauty of our three-night trip, I cannot begin to tell you how amazing the food was! I have traveled the world and had meals in some great restaurants and Dan's cooking rivaled the best! It's surreal at times to be eating something like Bananas Foster with ice cream while sitting in a gorgeous meadow under the shimmering light of a full moon. It takes your breath away.
If you are looking for a great experience in beautiful Eastern Oregon, this is the ultimate!

Now, don't give too many of our secrets away! ;) Thank you SO much for the amazing review. It's taking out groups like yours that makes our work so enjoyable. I can't wait to see more familiar faces next time around and meet new ones as well. Here's to many more adventures, cheers! - Dan, Kaleb, & Lloyd

Alright, so picture this: You're standing at the trailhead of this epic Oregon hike, nervous and excited all at the same time. Then you meet the Go Wild crew – I'm talking Dan and Lloyd – and instantly, you know you're in good hands.
Not only did they keep us safe and hydrated the whole way, but they were also constantly checking in, making sure everyone's feet weren't turning into hamburger. I mean, talk about service!
And let's talk about the food. I'm pretty sure chefs from fancy restaurants would be drooling over the gourmet meals Go Wild whipped up out in the middle of nowhere. Seriously, it was like having a private chef on the trail!
By the end of the trip, it felt like we were part of this awesome extended family. I can't recommend Go Wild enough! If you're looking for an epic adventure with people who genuinely care about you having a blast, these are your guys!

We have a 13 year old with us, would the Baker City Walking Tour be ok? Where does it start and wondering about whether or not we would be able to park our 25 foot RV there while we go on that tour?
Thanks :)
