By far one of my favorite primitive camping spots! With over 10 miles of hiking trails (some you share with equestrians), the forrested paths are stunning and beautiful any time of year. I camped in March, and again in May. Due to heavy rain the weekend before, we were able to have a campfire...and our camping area was near a... More

We had a family reunion and stayed at the lodge. The rooms were nice and I like the overlooks at the back of the lodge. The hike up to Robber's Cave was a lot of work and a lot of fun and definitely worth it for the views and the history. Would love to go back in the fall when... More

Our first time to visit this beautiful State Park. We stayed in the lodge, loved the big room, and it was very clean. Only downside for us were the smaller beds, doubles- no queens in these rooms. It was nice to have the patio at the back. Also very well insulated, as we were never disturbed or heard the guests... More

What a great State Park! Me and my 5 year old daughter tent camped here for 2 nights. We arrived late at night so really just pitched our tent at the first campground we came to which was on Carlton Lake, we woke up to amazing views! It was a great campground had a picnic table, our area didn't have... More

This place is HUGE! It felt like several parks in one and I'm not sure it isn't?? There are several lakes, many campgrounds, tons of trails, lots of activities - I can't speak to all of it so I'll just explain my experience. I wanted to watch the meteor shower AND camp. I chose Robber's Cave for the first night... More

I went to Robbers Cave many times as a child. I have found memory's of hiking and fishing with my sister and parents. I wanted to share this experience with my family as well. I was worried it might not live up to my childhood memories but was greatly mistaken. It was the most fun we have had in a... More

We came during a heat wave to meet some other friends and go camping. The 100 degree days made outside adventures during the afternoon pretty tough but there is a nice pool for cooling off. We limited our hiking to early morning to avoid the heat. The cave (it is not a tunnel as some seem to expect) is not... More

While these look like Granny's cabin from the Beverly Hillbillies, on the inside they have central heat/AC, a full kitchen with microwave, wood burning fireplace and cable TV. Was shocked how comfortable they are and the setting is just incredible. Will be back this winter for sure.

Robbers Cave SP is one of our favorite state parks. For years we stayed in one of the cabins, but we have enjoyed the lodge accommodations for the past several trips. There is plenty to do with hiking trails, horseback riding, fishing and some climbing. The area is beautiful any time of the year, but fall is gorgeous! We enjoy... More
