Great Local Live Music Scene
May 2019
The Colony is a tiny, hole-in-the-wall dive bar with one of the best local music scenes in Tulsa. I don't go for the venue; I go for the music!

my kind of place
Sep 2019
Just another reason to travel from KC to Tulsa for musical outings. I went for SL Jones as much as I did for Buddy Guy. A great talent for the price of beer and tip. Been to 25 plus shows in last 2 months, already looking for a reason to go back. Maybe Kingfish and Seth Lee Jones in November.

Great music

Been here a few times, excellent group on Wed. Nights, gets people up dancing, good drinks plus a patio to enjoy a cigar. Friendly staff but get pretty busy at times. No table service. Good age range but does run older on average.

Crackerbox Palace, plays in a crackerbox
Jun 2018 • Friends
First time at The Colony. Was there to see the George Harrison Tribute. We were early and got the best table in the crackerbox. Got a cherry coke from the bar, only cost fifty cents, can't beat that. Even though we were early, had to pack in a lot of a business next door. When the program started all of a sudden the regulars of the band came and stood right in front of us blocking any view of the groups. So we could never see them perform. I was hopeful it would be good, and it could have been with a little twicking but the first band played his songs very slow, not my cup of tea. The vocals were not loud enough, one of the major problems with local bands not experienced in getting the sound right. the second band was a little better. we didn't stick around for the Crackerbox Palace band, went home put on a DVD of the Tribute to George and enjoyed the rest of the evening.

Best Live Music

They have music every night. Small little dive bar with the friendliest staff and excellent musicians that stop by all the time. From Grammy nominated artists to extremely talented beginners, this is the place to go for live music

Great Dive bar with live music
Feb 2018 • Business
Total dive with a small stage and live music, even on weeknights. Drinks are moderately priced (perhaps more than expected for this place) and the crowd varies. Singer/songwriter night was a sort of open mike but sparsely attended, but great fun.

The Colony is a small dive bar located in Midtown. We went on a Wednesday night around 11:30pm and even though we only caught the last few songs of the set, I really enjoyed the live music. Drinks prices are very fair, especially considering the size and strength of our drinks. Plus the bartender was good for some small talk and telling us a little about the place. Live music 7 days a week. It's a dimly lit, small dive bar, so don't expect anything fancy... however this is the perfect spot if you're looking for a low-key night to grab a few drinks and maybe meet some interesting locals while enjoying the tunes.
