Must-see for lovers of great architecture!
Sep 2020
Knowing Tulsa's reputation for its Art Deco architecture, we wanted to see a few examples. This is one of the best! A church built around 1930, it is a stunning building made of Indiana limestone and Minnesota granite. Walk around and look up!! Bring your binoculars or camera telephoto lens so that you can see the top of the towers and the beautiful details of the statuary. Unfortunately due to COVID, we were unable to go inside the church building.

Beautiful...both inside and out

Architecturally stunning, this is one of the true Art Deco gems in Tulsa, It also happens to be a warm, welcoming, inclusive and caring congregation. On a scale of one to ten, Boston Avenue is a 20.

Architectural great!
Sep 2018
If you have any interest in Tulsa's great ties to the art deco movement you MUST visit Boston Avenue! The history on the sought facade depicts the circuit preachers and the apostles on north are beautifully rendered. Call for tour time.

Amazingly beautiful!

This is a Tulsa gem that anyone interested in Tulsa landmarks, art deco, or just an amazing place to see should check it out. There are several Tulsa Tours available in different price ranges, but I've been on two which take you inside the cathedral and relate the history as well as show you some amazing architectural wonders. It stands like a beacon on South Boston. Any trip to Tulsa should include this. Much more interesting than the Golden Driller or the Praying Hands at ORU.

Spectacular

Whether you are of the Christian persuasion or just love architecture, this is an inspiring site. I think they offer tours and it would be worth checking out, but there is a brochure that describes the history and background of the church and therefore, a self-guided visit is possible.

Art deco delight
Sep 2018 • Friends
I’m a fan of art deco architecture and have seen some of the more renowned examples in various American cities and neighborhoods (South Beach, Asheville, etc.). Tulsa’s Boston Avenue Methodist Church is a fine example of art deco church architecture executed on a grand scale. Small wonder that it’s National Register-listed. Seeing the 225 foot-high tower is reason enough to include this church in your itinerary. I still can’t believe how far back I had to stand in order to photograph the whole thing.

I have seen the exterior of this amazing Art Deco gem many times, but recently had the opportunity to view the inside, and it is also beautiful!

Beautiful architecture outside
Jul 2018 • Couples
This is an impressively beautiful church on the outside. It hasn't maintained the historic look inside. I actually love their motto - a historic church for modern people. It's not a church that's just a building, it's people thriving here. As a visitor to the city it was lovely to walk around it.

Incredible Art Deco
Jul 2018 • Couples
If you love art deco, this is definitely worth visiting, the staff were very nice and welcoming, let us wander thru their facility and enjoy the history of the place. Excellent example of the architecture and period. I would highly recommend stopping by and taking a step back in history to marvel at it all.
