The docent who sells the tickets is so knowledgeable about the history, so it is wise to hear her out. Very nice person. The Estate manager happened to run in to us and showed us the tunnel and gave a little extra history

I’ve always admired the Marland Home from the outside, but the inside is even more grand. Mr Marland had an amazing life and the home was so beautifully kept with many of the Marland’s things! We found it to be a very worthwhile visit and was amazed at all the things we discovered about his life. The host the day we visited was gracious and very informative. We bought a video of his life and I would highly recommend it to make the home tour come to life! A must see in Ponca City.

A must see! The mansion is beautiful and the grounds are amazing. So glad we went. Very interesting family and history. We visited in May 2020 for we did not get a tour. It was great to be able to see things at a slower pace than on a tour.

THANK YOU to the volunteers who keep this piece of history alive. It's a lot of work, but so worth it. What a wonderful window into a time and place so distant in one way, but so near in another. I wasn't alive when the Marlands lived here - not even close - but my great grandmother, whom I knew well, would have been a young woman in this home's heyday.
We especially enjoyed the mini-tour given to us by the woman volunteering that day, and learned more in 15 minutes than in a week of attending a history class.

Stopping to tour Marland's Grand Estate is well worth the stop. It is set up as a self guided tour. There are 4 levels of lthe estate. If you need assistance to reach the upper levels there is an elevator & chair-lift available. Ask for help. Pets are not allowed in any of the buildings on the estate but are welcomed on the grounds with a leash.
Opening day was June 2, 1928. There are many buildings on the grounds such as Lydie's Cottage, stables, gazebo & boat house. There is an outdoor swimming pool & Lake Whtemarsh which is the last remaining lake of the original 5.
There is also a walking trail which is over one-half mile in length & is also handicapped accessible. There are picnic areas, beautiful vistas & educational markers which can be found as you stroll aroung the estate.
Cost: Adults $10; Seniors $8 & children $5.
Hours: Monday-Saturday 10am to 5pm. Sunday 1pm to 5pm.
Guided tours: Monday-Sunday 1:30pm

Went to visit this grand home recently. We are interested in different periods of architecture and this is a fine example of an early 20th century home. It was interesting to get a small glimpse into the life of an Oklahoma oil barron.

Heard of this from a friend. Didn't know such a show place existed. Interesting visit and the town of Ponca City is a neat place to visit.

Marland’s Grand Home is definitely worth a visit if you’re interested in Oklahoma history, 101 Ranch, American Indian artifacts, or the DAR. The Marlands had a far-reaching impact on building Ponca City; many directions that are unexpected like polo. Self-guided tour is easily followed with excellent signage. Can also connect to WiFi tour. Disadvantage is that most people have it on speaker instead of headphones. Allow plenty of time. It’s a bargain at $5pp. Senior and military discounts.

This is 3 museums in one. The house was owned by others and some of it is interesting. The D.A.R., Indian and 101 Ranch also have museums in the house.

This is the first home the legendary oil businessman E. W. Marland built in Ponca City. With Oklahoma’s first indoor swimming pool, it is luxurious even by today’s standards. This historic home obviously has been receiving excellent care and maintenance as the whole property shines with beauty and elegance.
