It’s always beautiful to drive or walk around the lake. Great restaurants with patio dining and wonderful views, especially if you’re lucky enough to capture a spectacular sunset.

It’s hard to believe something so splendid is smack dab in the middle of the city. I love watching the sailboats and the lighthouse always makes the perfect backdrop for gorgeous photographs.

Lake Hefner is a great place to unwind, people watch or take in nature’s beauty ranging from flowers to animals. The more adventurous will love walking, running or biking around the entire lake. Plenty of people also fish on the lake so make sure you have permit before you do so. 👍🏻 🎣 ☀️ 🏃‍♀️ ⛵️

Very nice welcoming park. Spent a couple of hours fishing the shoreline. Unpaved roads around the coves were in good shape and most of the shoreline easily accessible. Shoreline was clean with porttable restrooms throughout the areas I fished.
Saw a number of people walking dogs while others just enjoying the atmosphere. The marina area in the harbor had good fishing accessibility as water levels were normal. Seemed like a good number of people were out fishing on this Wednesday morning, more than I had expected.

No fish pictures to post but fishing is an experience going beyond the catching which doesn't always happen. It's nice to have a lake and park like this right inthe city easily accessible.

With the lake being a few minute bike ride from my apartment, I would frequently take a few laps. The trails are super smooth for bikes, and friendly for walks, dogs, etc. There are parks and restaurants on the lake as well.

I just moved to Oklahoma City from Minneapolis, MN in which has about 10,000 lakes and a lot of beaches. Oklahoma gets extremely hot in the summer and it blows my mind that there is no beach in Oklahoma City. I came across Lake Hefner and is very beautiful and is only lacking a beach. Oklahoma could make a lot of money if Lake Hefner had a beach it's just so crazy. If Lake Hefner was in MN it would Have a beach from one park all the way to the next park. Come on Oklahoma!!! Spend money on a beach instead of BICKTOWN BEACH.

I'm so glad I had asked my server at Iron Star for directions to the lighthouse area. Apple maps and the map on this app shows you the wrong direction!

He told me to follow the directions to Louie's Grill and Bar since the lighthouse is directly there. Glad I did! It's such a nice place to relax and sit by the water. People come and go just to take a photo of the lighthouse but I recommend staying awhile longer by sitting on the bench (only 2) and enjoying the little splashes and scenery.

People letting dogs run in park. I guy golfing in the park, parked on the grass, near a sign that clearly stated no golf in the park. He had to base several signs stating stay on the road. Another idiot drove through the fence and was in the lake bed. Again passed a sign stated this is against city rules. Oh and all the people on bicycles running stops signs and speeding, but don't saying thing to them they will flip you off and cus at you.

Great place to bike for all ages. There is always a breeze which is nice... It takes several hours to get around the lake on leisurely ride...
Fun to stop at one of the restaurants right on the bike trail on east side of lake...
Beware of wind... coming back in against the wind at end of ride can be a test!!

We were at Lake Hefner to go to Momma Rojas Mexican Grill and it was still early so we took a nice stroll around the restaurants of Louis's and Momma Rojas, the light house lsland and just had a good walk. People using the path were friendly and courteous. it was fun watching the runners, bikers and walkers. Evergthing was clean, well manicured and just a great space for picnics, walks and exercising. we enjoyed sitting at the windows at Rojas and watching the ducks, the sail boaters and being at the waters edge while dining

You will see so many people walking, biking, running and boating around the lake. The trails are nicely paved and the lake breeze is nice. We always walk out to the light tower and sit on the bench before we go. Watch out for angry geese!

Rode the loop on my road bike twice. This has the potential to be one of the nicer spots to ride in OKC however the amount of garbage, specifically on the road leading to the parking lot, was beyond acceptable.
It's a shame that people are ruining what should be a beautiful location to view nature and exercise.
