About
Myriad Botanical Gardens is one of Oklahoma City’s most beloved public spaces, offering its visitors a 15 acre natural escape in the heart of downtown. A half-acre children’s garden, an off-leash dog park, splash fountains, and paths for walking and jogging provide guests young and old with a place to seek solitude with nature, or seek community and the company of others. The Gardens offers a variety of horticultural education programs for adults and children. The centerpiece attraction of the Gardens is the Inasmuch Foundation Crystal Bridge Conservatory. Its unique design has earned attention and praise in the architectural community. It is 224 feet long, 70 feet in diameter, and is covered by 3,028 sections of translucent, double-layered acrylic panels. After an 18-month, $11 million renovation, it reopened to the public on November 18, 2022.

- Jane SOlympia, Washington361 contributionsDistancing from people while embracing natureWhat a wonderful respite during the coronavirus pandemic. Marvelous, vibrant colors of flowers and grass, immaculately maintained including the restrooms, offering a place to walk amongst nature and to picnic during a time of closed restaurants, activities of ducks and songs of birds and scurrying of squirrels and squeals of delight from children. Exciting prospects of one day reopening to outdoor concerts. With all our hearts we gave thanks for this place.Visited May 2020Traveled with friendsWritten May 3, 2020
- GuitarjessAnkeny, Iowa687 contributionsWe could have spent more time here but didn’t have time:(We stopped and visited the botanical Center on our way out of town before it got too hot in the morning. Everything was well-maintained and fun to look at. The variety in elevation and walking trails, and fountains and wildlife made it an entertaining place to visit and the best part is it’s completely free. There might be a cost to go across the glass bridge but it was closed. I highly recommend this wonderful free Garden in downtown Oklahoma CityVisited August 2021Traveled with familyWritten August 2, 2021
- VanEsq12Dallas, Texas2,451 contributionsBeautiful and Rich With Color and Flora Variety! This is a beautiful botanical garden that must be different every time one visits. There are THOUSANDS of plants that must bloom at different times offering guests a unique opportunity to see a variety of colors when they visit. There is both an indoor and outdoor aspect to this garden. Inside the Crystal Bridge, visitors are given a chance to see tropical plants and flowers. Beware! The humidity in here is 100%, so it's best to do this part first thing in the morning!! The outdoor gardens offer a walking trail through flowers, beside a water source with ducks. This would be the perfect place for a picnic or outside concert!Visited July 2020Traveled with friendsWritten July 12, 2020

Since temperature was extremely high that day we chose to go early in the morning and walk around the outside grounds to enjoy it in cooler weather and then chose to go inside. Grounds were very pretty and I realize in September they wouldn't have as many flowers but it was still pretty. Overall it was a nice garden but I have been to better. Crystal bridge I did expect more but it was still nice.

The best thing about Myriad Gardens is going into the conservatory (Crystal Bridge) which is paid, but well worth it. It's beautifully designed with a waterfall inside, and the descriptions of the plants inside is very interesting, including having slots through which you can smell different scents of the plants. The plants are organized by use, such as smell for perfume, texture for making a Panama Hat, medicinal, to eat, etc. Probably a one-hour visit. The gardens include an amphitheater and it's a nice walk around a large manmade pond/reflecting pool that has Koi fish.

One of the best things about visiting the Great Plains in Spring is seeing the parks and botanical gardens, and this one in OKC is fabulous. The combined diversity and quantity of botany and architecture on display in the single block of downtown is an amazing MUST SEE. I have been to some great gardens but to see it all in a single city block is incredible, outside and inside, open space and shade, water features and stadium seating. If you like plants this is an attraction worth coming to Oklahoma. I love plants and this place was so unexpected and incredible, really an attraction accident. Finally this is a great amenity and feature for downtown OKC, be sure to spend time here.

The outdoor gardens and water features are free for all to enjoy in this downtown oasis of beauty. Only the Myriad Botanical Gardens that are indoors cost to experience. We are members of NARM so did not have to pay. There is a one-way walkway that traces from desert to tropics with abundant, beautiful, intersting, and appropriate plantings. The pathway crosses over a sky bridge and has a number of Kodak Moment waterfalls. There are signs identifying certain plants, but it is often difficult to know to which plant the sign belongs. A wonderful place for all ages.

First- it's not closed. This notification is misleading. Only the main building is closed for the rest of the years for renovation. The grounds are open.
Myriad is a great oasis in the city. The Children's Garden is nice and has a fun water feature. My daughter immediately fell in love with the turtles, ducks, and fish. We spent two hours on a warm Tuesday morning and had a great time. It never felt crowded, and we were able to be leisurely, The plants and Children's Garden seemed particularly well tended.
My only complaint is that the bathrooms and trash needed attention. We were there after the 4th of July weekend, so maybe the crew hadn't gotten to it yet. There were full trash cans and beer bottles on the ground. The bathrooms in these kinds of places are kind of hard to keep clean, but these needed a good round of cleaning.

The gardens are beautiful with an array of plant life to view while downtown. To enter the greenhouse portion is $8 and well worth it. Tropical plants and an inside waterfall make for a great educational experience.

Fantastic collection of cacti, aloe vera plants. It is more expensive than it should be and during the winter months and or covid the Conservatory was the only thing open so the visit doesn't last a long time. We did walk a bit outside by their water and tried to identify some ducks.

We just visited the outside area, and it was really pleasant walk trough all those beautiful gardens, so many different flowers.
It have a beautiful water play zone for kids.
I recommend to stop for a couple of hours, and it’s free.
You can visit the Crystal Bridge tropical conservatory for a fee.

Since the conservatory was closed we could only do the outside ~ with that being said we Still was there for close to 3 hours. there is many different levels to this garden, and for the most part the plants are well identified and literature on great gardening tip through out. Since it was Late fall time some plants had gone dormant ~ but still maintained well and beautifully manicured. There is a Koi pond and Ducks on the very bottom of this multiple level garden layout. Gardens are themed through out as well, children's garden, shade garden, pollinators garden etc...

Love the sunken design of this park, feels like an oasis in the middle of the city. There were ducks, blooming flag iris and lots of carp. Gardens in full bloom. The conservatory tunnel was closed temporarily unfortunately.

How long do I give myself to see all attractions?

My answer would be depends on what type of person you are. if you like to look at the plants, read the signs, stroll around the pond and take your time, I'd say 2 hours. If you're a walk through "That's a plant, that's a plant" type person, you can be done in about 20-30 minutes.

Is the Myriad Botanical Gardens through the American Horticultural Society Reciprocal Program? (I have a membership to the Botanica in Wichita, KS, and was hoping I could use my membership card for free/discounted admission in OKC.)
