Fun for teens and up

This was the first escape room my family has visited. There were 4 of us total: 2 adults, a 16 and 23 yr old. The website describes the scenarios in each room, the recommended # of players (6 per room max) and how difficult it was. Each scenario lasts one hour. We chose Fatal Attraction, partly because it was the easiest for our first time. The website lets you reserve the time and the room. You pay per person, but there is a discount if you reserve the whole room. Be aware that if you have less than 6 and do not reserve the whole room, those extra spots stay open on the website if a smaller group wants to join.

Guy who checked us in was friendly and encouraging. The rules were explained, including how to get hints if we wanted help. All rooms have a tablet on the wall. Instead of finding a key, there are questions that you have to answer in order to "escape". Ours rebooted in the middle, but the guy came in right away (before we could even call him) to fix it and set back up where to we were in the scenario so we didn't lose our place or any time.

We were all a little surprised at the pressure we felt to solve our puzzle. I expected the answers to be obvious since we were in an easy room but you had to work to figure the clues out and there was a lot of misdirection. We were able to escape the room in about 30 minutes with no help.Everyone had a blast and we want to go back and try a harder room next time. When you are done, you get to sign the wall and they also have an area with props that you can use for a group picture that they will happily take for you!

This is not an activity that young children would be able to really participate in, although it you had a younger one I don't think there was anything particularly scary (at least in our room--you can always ask ahead of time). Teenagers on up would probably enjoy it, especially if there is a large enough group to solve the puzzle.

Girl's Night Out
Feb 2018 • Friends
The guy that checked us in was very passionate and knowledgeable as he prepared us for our room. I have been here before with my family to do the "Heist" room and had a blast so I came back for a girl's night out and we did " Fatal Attraction" and it was awesome! We solved it in time with no hints but it definitely took all 6 minds working together! Reasonably priced, great set-up and fun concept!

Good, But Not Great
Feb 2017 • Friends
We were traveling from Texas to Iowa and decided to spend the night in Norman, OK. I love escape rooms and had someone along with me who had only done a few, so we decided to try Cracked Norman. There was only one staff member working that day (he said there were normally 2) and it made for a longer wait between room set ups. The lobby area they put you in has a full length signature wall that people sign after completing the rooms, which was fun. However, the carpet was in serious need of a cleaning. I didn't care for their pricing structure, which is by the room, not by person, so for 2 people to go through the room it was over $40 per person, when I am used to paying between $25-$30 per person to go through a room (and the majority of those were higher tech and much cleaner).

The room we tried was "The Heist". Again, very dirty carpeting in this room. The puzzles had been worked hard by previous players and appeared to need some attention. They have visual, but no audio in the rooms, so if you had a question for the game master, you knocked on the door and then had to wait for them to come to the room. You are on the clock here, and I didn't like having to wait for that response back. They also used a tablet in the room to give you some guidance during the game and I found that a little clunky also. One of the puzzles we were trying to solve involved moving pieces around, but the space on the wall they gave you to do this was not adequate, so we had to put the pieces on the floor, which meant we had to be careful to not step on them and damage them, again, not very well thought out. We didn't escape the room, but were working on the last puzzle when our time ran out, much to our dismay.

If I were to go back to try another room, I would make sure I had more people to bring the cost down, which in my case usually means joining other groups to go through rooms, as I am usually traveling solo.

Hi Booperskp! Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate any feedback that we get (constructive or positive). In regards to our pricing structure you can choose to either purchase tickets by person or an entire room. However, you do run the risk if buying individual tickets that someone else might buy individual tickets for the same room that you are doing and you will be put together. An individual ticket price is $17.50 while the entire room (6 people) is $75. I am sorry for the long wait between rooms. We try and staff at least 2 people there at all times. However, flu season can make this difficult. I appreciate your feedback about the level of cleanliness and problems you experienced during your game play. I will see what can be done to make the experience more enjoyable! Again thank you for taking the time to let us know about your trip!

Fun activity for all ages
Dec 2016 • Family
I took my 12 year old and 3 of her friends. We did the detention room and it was perfect for their age. They worked with me to decide if I wanted to adjust the scenario to make it easier or more challenging. The hour flew by and with a couple of hints, we solved it about 15 seconds too late! But so cool. The girls had a great time, we laughed and they all said they wanted to come back!

They don't lock you in the room, the door is open if you need to step out for any reason. Things are clearly marked if they are not part of the puzzle.

Great way to spend time with friends or family. Lots to talk about after! Look forward to doing this again!

Best family activity we've found!
Aug 2016 • Family
I can't say enough about this place. We went with myself, my sister and brother, and my 2 kids age 13 and 10. I was hesitant to bring the children since I didn't think they'd be able to contribute and might get bored but they actually cracked as many clues as any of us and therefore had a blast too! The best part is that even though it's good for adults and kids alike, it's not too easy. We went twice a couple months apart and got so close but didn't escape in time either occasion. My daughter actually requested this for her next birthday too. PS: hit up Hurts Donuts around the corner afterwards... DELICIOUS!

Challenging and Entertaining. So much fun
May 2016 • Family
Went with family members of all ages, and truly expected that as a group we were going to crack the room in record time. The hour went by so quickly and was very challenging. It was fun to act detective like searching for the clues and solving the puzzles. Shockingly, we missed an obvious clue and didn't crack the code in time. Everyone, despite their age contributed in solving or finding clues. If we had the time, we would have stayed and tried another room to redeem our honor. A definite fun thing to do that is above the usual.
