About
We are an events facility with events running throughout the year. We start our season with the Renaissance Festival, step back in time to the 16th century right here in Oklahoma. Next up we have our Fireworks season. We have over 30,000 sq ft of indoor air conditioned shopping, with everything guaranteed to light. After that we head in to our annual Zombie Run, come run for a cause! Our 5k obstacle course with Zombies goes to support charities. We aren't done with Zombies just yet, come pick from any of our 11 events for the Halloween Festival. We have something for everyone from not scary to very scary. Then we get ready for our annual Boare's Head Feaste. Come dine like royalty in our traditional Renaissance Thanksgiving. Once we finish there we have our Castle Christmas event. We have lights, inflatables, Father Christmas, Hayrides, and soooo much more for your Christmas celebration.

This year was the first time I was able to attend the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival at the Castle and I loved it! So many things to see and do. It was wonderful mingling with all the people in colorful costumes and watching them dance. All the vendors, food, animals among the beautiful pagentry is so entertaining.
My favorite parts were the watching the jousting match and the comedy show by the Washing Well Wenches. So much fun and lots of good laughs. It was lovely to stroll in the "forrest" looking at all the hidden little gems along the path.
Great way to spend an afternoon of merriment, definitely a family environment. I'm looking forward to coming back with my friends for one of the other events held at the Castle later this year.

Ive worked and been a patron of the Castle since 2005. It is an amazing attraction with plenty to do on your own or with friends/family. The 2 big events of the year are the Renaissance Faire in May and the Haunted Castle in October. The Renaissance faire in my opinion is definitely a first class event. It has amazing food, small merchants with wild treasures, beautiful garb, and but the actors of the Castle are the true treasure. They devote so much of their lives to these characters. Most spend the entire year preparing, sewing, practicing and planning their characters for the faire. Its not much different at haunted castle. An amazing fun and atmosphere. Can be very scary but it also fun as heck. Great characters, lots of jumps and screams. Just a fun time.
Id definitely try both events atleast once. They are completely worth it.

This was our first time to go to the Renaissance Festival, it was so much fun. I love all the buildings; it gives it a real town feel. There was so much to see and do, and all the costumes everyone had on were great. There was a lot of entertainment. Make sure to watch the jousting. The grounds have a lot of big, beautiful trees making lots of shady areas. Tickets were 25 at the gate and 20 if you purchased it online ahead of time. They have lots of parking and it is free to park We will go back,

This place was just okay. The costumes were great but I thought admission was a little high considering that you have to pay for literally everything once you get in. Pony ride was $8. Escape room $5. $15 for a lemonade and some fries. Plus all the tipping performers. The grounds and castle are pretty run down. But I don’t regret going, I can mark it off my list- but I don’t think I’d go back.

We went for the Halloween festival & loved it! I think we may have missed some areas because other than the haunted attractions, most of it was beer & a book store, which we visited both. The haunted houses were really good, we did the four scariest ones. I would definitely recommend the fast passes because we didn't have to wait in any line at all & the lines were decently long. I do wish there was more food available, but it was definitely fun!

First off, we were very excited to be going to a Renaissance Festival for the first time. The costumes were very cool. We thought it was neat how they gave the change in coins made to look like that time. We found out they could be cashed in for our normal cash otherwise we were thinking well this is quite a racket they have going. :-) The big bottle of root beer was awesome! We had turkey leg, fried pickles, funnel cake and a bbq sandwich. We were able to watch the jousting contest. It was hard to hear what the people were saying. We sat opposite of where the royalty seats were. Sit on their side so you can hear them. We were just looking for shade. Met the "Queen" and took a picture with her. She was very nice and played the part well. Overall, I am glad we went to have the experience.
Now what I did not like was the crude humor being shouted at me. Perhaps I took it wrong since there seemed to be alcohol being consumed by many and maybe they all had a lot to drink that morning. :-/ When I was just walking past the booth to use the sledge hammer to bang the ball up to the dinger, the guys yells at me "Want to play with my wood?". Now mind you, I am walking with my husband, 16 year old daughter and 10 year old daughter. Imagine my face when this idiot says such a comment? Again, I could be taking it wrong. Another person yells "Want to play with my balls" at another game. Seriously dude?
So at this point, I have no desire to go to another Renaissance Festival ever again. Even though a man at our hotel told us that this is the best one to go to because the Actor/Actresses are so awesome.
However, I would like to come back to the Castle for Christmas. Here is hoping that the demeanor of the Actor/Actresses during Christmas are a little more family oriented.

A nice little Renaissance festival in Oklahoma. Friendly participants. Good shows. Reasonable food and drink. Plenty of fun for everyone. We've been to Scarborough Faire at Waxahachie and the Texas Renaissance Festival at Magnolia. The Texas Renaissance is the best of the three, but the festival in Muskogee is a fun day, too.

I hadn't been to a Renaissance Faire in decades, but this one made me glad I went back! The performers were all very friendly and interacted frequently with the guests. There were several kinds of food options, and a decent variety of vendors. The middle eastern food stand was a nice change from the ubiquitous turkey legs, and the winery that offered mead tasting was a fun surprise. There were shows ranging from music to magic, with the human chess match and the mud show as traditional favorites. (Warning: many shows are PG-13, though much of the bawdy humor will go over kids' heads.) The joust was unexpectedly short, and then it wasn't really clear how the day was supposed to end - I think with a songfest at the tavern?
There was a scavenger hunt for kids, and a nice shaded area with child-friendly activities. Best of all, they had the option to become ladies and knights of the court. The wait can be up to an hour, but the king and queen were so patient and great with the kids - treated each one with individual attention. We'll definitely be back next year!

We went to the Castle during the Christmas event. They had yard balloons and it was such a waste of time and money. It was a drive through for a donation. The castle then had fireworks and dumb items in the store. This is like a home for rednecks.

Do you have a discount rate for individuals that are severely disabled? Meaning they are immobile and non verbal so they have to be with their caregivers

Which hotels/motels are the closest to the castle? Thank you.

There are several within a couple of miles. We've been to the Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn and Fairfield Inn and have had a good experience with them. Look around at what is available and what amenities you want, then make a decision. Word of advice though, the cheaper hotel/motels there are usually not that great and any amenities may or may not be available, Good luck and have fun!
When's the best time to arrive on a Saturday night for Halloween festivities? Says you open at 6. Can we park earlier and wait to get in? I just would like to beat some of the traffic and be early to get tickets!

Muskogee, OK
Our gates open at 5:30 and you can park and wait to get it. Ticket sales are from 6-10pm. Most of the attractions do not start until 6:30 -7:15 so it is dark. If you arrive at 6 you should be fine.

Is this appropriate for school age children? Want to bring my classes but don't want them to learn too much lol.

Yes, we are a family friendly festival. Student day is more modest then a regular festival day, but our cast is very respectful and keep it family friendly.

Are you open to public year round or only for the events? If open are there admission prices or day fees?
Marie B

LsArcher,
We are closed the full month of January for vacation, then February and March we are open to the public with no admission to come in but there are no events going on. April our merchants will be setting up for the Renaissance festival that happens every weekend in May so we will not be open to the public except for the admission to the festival. We then go straight to Fireworks and will not open to the public until June 15th to the 5th of July. A week later we will be back open to the public with free admission but no events will be going on. We close down in August to start setting up for the Halloween Festival and September 12th is our Charity Zombie Run, the public is free to attend but to run you will need to register online. The Halloween Festival is every weekend in October and admission is free but to partake in the events there will be charges. November 19th is our Boare's Head Feaste that is reservation only event. Starting on Thanksgiving night we have our Castle Christmas until New Years Eve, free drive through around and look. When we are open to the public it is Monday through Friday 9-5.
If you are interested in rental rates you will need to contact me in the office at 918-687-3625 we have 5 different rooms available for rental or you can rent the entire Castle. All of the information regarding our events is also available on our website, but rental you have to contact the office.
