I really do love going here! I usually go about twice a year. They usually have traveling exhibits that are there for just a few months. They have pioneer days and many other family events throughout the year, definitely a must see!More

Thanks! We have two galleries that feature temporary exhibits. The Oklahoma Museum Network (OMN) Gallery rotates every six months and features science-based exhibits. The Terry K Bell Gallery rotates every three months and features rarely-seen objects from the museum's collection, as well as art or...More

I thought the Museum was great. So many levels of historical displays inside, scientific interactive games for the kids on the upper levels. We were fortunate to be there with re-enactors on site in the settler trading post. Historic trains were great as well. Overall,...More

The basics: Let me start by saying that you need more than an hour at this museum. Admission was $10 for an adult and there were discounts for young, old and military. This facility was easy to access from I-44 and has ample parking. The...More

You must be a rail enthusiast? Glad you liked the locomotive. Two Army tanks pulled it to the museum in 1962. Also, thank you for mentioning the park around us, it's one of the bonus features (when it isn't 100 degrees outside). You're right, the...More

I was a little worried about coming here with a 2 and 4 year old. Even though many reviews said it was oriented to children, I thought they might be a little young for the experience. Turns out my fears were unfounded. There were so...More

In February of 2012 I said this was a must stop-in for everyone. Well after stopping in 1 week ago, I have to change that review. Now it seems that the Museum Of The Great Plains is turning into a science center. It seemed great...More

Thanks for the comparative review. We changed our presentation, but not our direction. We actually cover all the same subject areas, with a few additional topics, and all to the same or greater degree than in the past. The story line in the main gallery...More

While this museum is geared toward children, as it is interactive, we had a great time. There were four adults and we played with everything. This is a great place to spend a couple of hours. My only complaint is that all of the old...More

Thanks for the review. You did, as adults, exactly what we intended! We designed the new exhibits with the idea of being accessible to children, BUT also appealing to adults. We want all our visitors to use the interactive components. Normally the trading post is...More
