We arrived before the 10 AM opening and waited in the car. A museum employee saw us and let us in a little ahead of time. He also showed us several areas, one of which was a working area not open to the public. This...More

Incredible museum! You'll be amazed that such a museum can be found in a small town in SE Oklahoma. There are amazing natural history components as well as items from cultures around the world.

We have toured this museum twice and enjoyed each stop. Has a nice collection of Native artifacts and a giant Acrocanthosaurus (although this is not on display at this time, because of museum construction). Be sure to find the cabinets full of arrowheads and primitive...More

The museum is under new construction so didn't get to see the dinosaur, but a nice museum, a mix of modern and historic artifacts and art from North American, South American, and pieces from New Guinea and other countries. Interesting collection boxes of smaller archaeological...More

I live in Louisiana near the Red River and that was the initial attraction for me and my traveling companions. As mentioned in another review the museum is undergoing a huge renovation/expansion. The designs of the finished projects show a very impressive museum. If you...More

Dear Elana, Thank you for sharing your experience with others on Trip Advisor. I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’ll pass your review on to John—the gentleman in the shop. Personally speaking, the drum has always been my favorite part of the Museum—although the dinosaur is...More
