I was excited to visit the garden, unfortunately we went in October so not a whole lot was in bloom. We did enjoy walking around the garden and looking at what was in bloom. I wish more things were labeled so we could identify more of the plants and trees. It probably is way more beautiful in the spring and summer.

This was our second visit, the first was several years ago and at that time it was lovely. Rather than seeing a beautiful maturing garden on this visit, we were sad to see that it appears the bare minimum is done to maintain the plants and gardens. So disappointed. Perhaps those who started this once beautiful place are no longer able to give it the care needed.

I believe this place was started by a doctor who had a love for plants and it has matured nicely! I also think it is one of the only true botanical gardens in that 4 state area, really worth the visit.
They now have a dedicated group of volunteers who take very good care of the garden and it shows. They have a wide variety of mature plants, places for weddings and pictures and many areas to just sit and enjoy the lovely songbirds and beautiful surroundings.
When you go make sure you also visit Har-Ber village.
5.00 admission to be dropped in the little box.
Extremely quiet...:) Great place to go, relax and read a good book while listening to the water features.
Better in the spring when more things are blooming, can be pretty hot and stifling in the dog days of summer.
Take some water when you go...:)

Lendonwood Gardens features a beautifully landscaped garden open to the public from dawn to sunset with a Japanese tea house pavilion available for events such as weddings, etc. The tea house has a small pond filled with 300 fish ready to be fed during any visit. A special Angel of Hope sculpture garden creates a still, quiet area for reflection. The Azalea Garden, when in bloom, is filled with fragrant odors and beautiful colors. An Oklahoma Garden features native plants. Nice paths and quiet walkways take you around and through a well kept and colorful garden. Maintained by volunteers, there is no entry fee, but a $5 per car donation is suggested. A trail map helps you guide your visit. I was there with a group of artist who came to sketch and draw. In my 2-hr say I took 200 photos of which many I hope will later become paintings. Take the time to stop in an look around. You won't have wasted your time and you'll be a little be calmer for the trip.

Looking for something to do as we vacationed on Monkey Island, we decided to give this place a go. There is a small parking lot in the front and one in the back accessed to the left of the front gate on a dirt road. Both have places as you enter to pay a $5 fee by placing in a red box, but there is no one to make sure you do that so it's really on your honor. I hope no one skips that because this place runs on only 5 volunteers for 8 acres of beauty including a pond and koi fish to feed.
The front entrance has a beautiful brick path, but it does not go throughout the garden. There were a number of other gravel paths leading off of it. The brick path was not even so it would be hard for someone with a walker to use, but there are lots of benches to rest and sit. The trees and foliage lean over the paths almost all the way around so it's nice and cool. There is also a restroom near the back of the gardens.
We saw a number of plants and trees we had never seen before with some in bloom. We talked to one of the volunteers who was weeding, and she happily told us about the gardens and the names of plants that weren't identified.
This is definitely a place we would recommend to anyone looking for a nice nature retreat, especially in the heat of summer.

We just had my daughter's wedding here and these people are just fantastic. They bent over backwards, even working in the rain, to make our event spectacular.
We were supposed to have the ceremony and reception in a friends lakefront yard but 2 weeks before he backed out. We called Lendonwood and that was the best decision we ever made. When I first called we were just looking to hold the reception there and the weather was supposed to be partly cloudy in the 70's.
A week later the forecast was rainy and 40's. We kept hoping for the best because the day before and after were supposed to be sunny and high 60's.
No luck, the day arrived and at 8 a.m. it started raining and it was indeed 40. We were setting up the table in the covered pavilion and ordering heaters for heat when Cindy showed up from Lendonwood. She basically forced me to let her put us inside. They had cleared out a very large house with attached green house, and her staff got out a tractor and helped us tear down and move everything up to the house. OH MY GOD they were so nice! We fit 70 people in there easily and were so glad she forced us to take it. Just the 15 minutes the guests spent in the pavilion left 5 of them shivering.
I will recommend this location to anyone looking for an affordable, location, or even if you have thousands to spend, go here, its beautiful.
Even on March 11 with weather in the 40's my daughter found at least 10 flowery spots to take pictures. In the sprin, summer, and fall the scenery will be awesome.

I was ready for Lendonwood Gardens to be a big disappointment….after all it is located in Grove, OK with a mere population of just 6000….I thought it would be small….but it is something like 8 acres! In the spring it was just gorgeous with all of the azaleas and rhodies blooming. It also features an Oklahoma garden that shows what will survive in the area. It is handicap accessible!

Fantastic walk through trees ans flowers. The pleasant sound of the creek is very soothing. A wonderful place for family photos where the gardens are the backdrop.

If you enjoy touring garden touring, this is an important stop, especially during rhododendron bloom, in mid April and early May. At that time, the Japanese maples are fully leaved, and their maybe over 50 types on display, you may also see more than 50 rhododendrons, which are well tended, and require frequent watering. You would have to travel to St. Louis, or Memphis, to see a superior collection of plants.
