As we drove along Route 66, we came across this museum, so we decided to stop and see what it was. Well, it was terrific!! It's quite large and well laid out with very nice exhibits and info on the Mother Road. It's very clean and fascinating. We spent a lot of time, watching the movie, which is a must BTW, and then walking around all the buildings which make up the museum. We found it all to be very interesting and informative. Definitely a must-see should you be traveling in the area. The small admission fee is well worth it for all you see and do. Highly recommend.

We called into this museum on passing through. The entrance fee of $5 per adult is very reasonable. Lots of information and history packed in. We couldn’t stay as long as we would have liked. In particular there was a drug store in the Old Town Museum in which Nicky and Virginia were on hand to welcome us and gave us loads of information and context to the display. Thanks guys!

This is a huge facility with numerous buildings and experiences. 17 different areas to explore under one inexpensive ticket. The exhibits are well done, and the buildings scattered about the property were varied, and displayed numerous aspects of history (some you can enter most you look through windows). Unfortunately the day we visited the farm and ranch museum was not available - no AC. Also unfortunately was the lack of maintenance in all but the main buildings. The dust on the exhibits viewed through a window, and the fact that the windows were filthy diminished my experience.

My husband and I visited the museum complex today. If you are a AAA member, you can get a discount so tickets were $4/person. I guess I was expecting a lot of classic cars, but there were only a handful of vehicles between the National Transportation Museum and the National Route 66 Museum. We spent about 1.5 hours visiting the above listed museums and the Old Town Museum which had old furniture and memorabilia downstairs and a rodeo museum upstairs. If you want to see a Route 66 Museum, I would recommend the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum in Clinton. It had more displays, about the same amount of vehicles.

Over the years we have been to several Route 66 museums. Not only is this a really great Route 66 Museum, it has several buildings and exhibits that display the history of the region. The staff are very nice and knowlegable and appear to enjoy sharing their knowledge.

We were driving Rte 66 from Flagstaff to Tulsa and stumbled across this museum thanks to a sign on 40 claiming the largest Rte 66 sign. We were surprised and impressed with the museum. Great local stories, cars, memorabilia and very nice hosts. Highly recommend a stop along the journey on the Mother Road

The National Route 66 Museum is actually a larger complex consisting of four separate areas. The first portion of the museum covers Route 66. We really enjoyed this portion of the museum. There is a nice movie covering the history of Route 66. Good collection of memorabilia including classic Popeye toys. The rest of the museum covers frontier life with an indoor/outdoor old town, a farm & ranch museum, and a blacksmith shop. These are great areas to let the kids stretch their legs and get a break from the car. We spent about an hour in the Route 66 portion of the museum and gift shop. Definitely a must stop when traveling across Route 66.

It was fun to see what was inside the museum. All the trinkets that were displayed and to have actually remembered some that I had a child. LOL the fun part with the drive in section and see the movie The Blob was playing....so remember that movie too and/or The creature from the black lagoon hahaha....The movie that is played in the movie room about the creation of route 66 "The mother highway" was quite interesting too. For only 5.00 per person (AAA gives you a discount of $1.00) so for $8.00 and three museums and the town to wander about in it was nice learning experience. Give yourself about 2 hours for the whole thing.

Nice little indoor museum reference US 66 BUT the outdoor buildings were great. plenty to see and do here. many photo opportunities. the small indoor US 66 museum houses the gift shop and is probably the "worst" of all the building pre se for it's small, crowded but still nice BUT the other building are just that much better. maker sure you get some pictures in front of the HUGE US66 sign.

Old town outdoor walking museum, stroll along the wooden path to peer into old decorated shops. Beautifully done block I would recommend for families. Perfect spot for a picnic lunch. The indoor part of the museum was closed when we arrived (after hours) but the free walk outside was lovely. Next door is the farm museum too. Lots to see and do in a small well planned space. Parking and entrance/exit are easy.
