Coach Eddie is so friendly and welcoming. He just acts like a friend you’ve known your whole life. I contacted him at the last minute and he got me set up w/ Doron for a half day on the morning of my birthday. Doron is a great guide. His passion, knowledge, and excitement about fly fishing is contagious. We were catching fish the min. we hit the water. I still have a ton to learn, but Doron was so patient in providing tips. Had my skill level been better, we would have got many, many more to the net. If you’re looking for a great guide, Doron is an excellent choice!!

We had a great trip with a pro guide. Matt was excellent, patient and worked the entire day to put us on fish. Highly recommend if you want to learn/and work to fly fish in OK. At least 6-7 ties per rig and he still had us near trees and structure with great patience for us beginners. Call and describe your level, ages and they will work to put you with a guide match. Love it.

Me, my son, and his best friend took our first trip to Beavers Bend in early January. We wanted to learn as much about the Lower Mountain Fork as possible so we hired a guide. We were so very lucky to get Morgan (“Mo”) as our guide. She is simply amazing. What we learned from her has helped each of us to be better fly fisherman. We fished an afternoon with Mo, and what she taught us helped us be very productive the next two days!! I’ve never had a guide work as hard as Mo to help us find fish. Her knowledge of the water, the fish, and the different techniques necessary to work these fish is incredible. All of that and she is really a lot of fun to fish with!! We will be back in the spring to chase down those sneaky browns!! Thanks Mo!! See you soon!!

UPDATED: COMMOM COURTESY is something this guide missed out on learning! Yes the river is for everyone to fish and enjoy. But a guide who is there to teach others how and where to fish should be the leader in this lesson. Instead the fly fishing guide we encountered while fishing yesterday morning, came to the spot we had gotten up early to fish, he proceeded to walk right in front of us in the water where we were casting. Not only that, he also instructed his patrons to move right in front of us. This was a poor lesson that he just taught these new fishermen. Sure they paid him to fish this trip. I can assure you that my family has supported this park for over 30 years and never acted in such a selfish disrepectful way to other park patrons. I know they spent money Mister fly fishing guide but I can assure you that the 30 years of multiple cabin rentals, paid park activities, park resturant meals and store purchases not to mention gift shop purchases, my family has paid to fish here too. I feel a fly fishing guide working under the parks name should be aware that common courtesy is a necessity to teach right after he learns it himself! We used a fishing guide ourselves for the first time this trip and he was not a fly fishing guide but he was one of the most respectful of the other fishermen around us and guided us away from others so not to disturb their fishing. For obvious reasons we will continue to use him because he taught more than just fishing, he teaches how to respect others space on the river! I recommend going with Josh at Mountain Fork Outfitters over this guy any day.
Update:
I received a call from the head guide Peter that helped to resolve this issue. Peter was very nice and helpful. Hopefully the young gentleman will learn from this experience.

First time to fly fish in Beavers Bend State Park. Guide Morgan Prater (Mo) out of Beavers Bend Fly Shop did an outstanding job of guiding my wife and I on an all day trip. She was personable, informative and patient. Mo has a fantastic attitude and put us on fish all day. She went the extra mile for us.

I loved to fly fish for trout. Then life got in the way and I forgot so much. Frustrated I gave it up. This week I hired Trey to teach me again.
I have my love back. Great lessons and education on where to go, learning knots again and set up for fishing.
The following day my son in law and I took a second lesson from Trey’s wife Mo. again great lesson as she worked with both of us but especially son in law. It was his first real experience fly fishing. He now has a new favorite hobby.
The fly shop provides ever. Including pole and set up and boots for the river.
So thankful for Roberta who runs the shop. She has great selection of high end products and can guide you to what you need. Not just after a sale but looked at what we had in flies and such.
So looking forward to fishing again.
Thank you so much

We went out this morning with Matt from BBFshop and he was awesome! I am so glad we did it, I caught my first brown in about 10 minutes and several rainbow. My sister out-did me with 2 nice rainbows 17 plus inches, she also caught several smalls. Missed more than we caught, lol but we had a blast. Thanks to Matt at BBFshop and all the folks there. My sister also got to meet Mo which made her day. I recommend these guys to everyone.

I had never fly fished before and my husband and I talked to Roberta, the owner of the shop. She scheduled us with a guide, Evan Vanek. We had a great day with Evan. He was very knowledgeable and truly wanted us to have a good experience and catch fish. We had a great time and would definitely fish with Evan again. Roberta, the shop owner, and the other lady who work there are so nice -- they were flexible with our plans and seemed so solid and trustworthy. They would not steer you astray.

The guides from Beavers Bend Fly Shop are top notch. My husband and I have fished and hunted with over 15 guides in the past 10 years all over the US and internationally, and have gotten accustomed to top tier service and knowledge from guides. Matt Lough and Doron Lovett lived up to our high expectations. Both were extremely knowledgeable, professional, courteous and great teachers. We will definitely use them again when we come back. I can't say enough great things about both of them. An added plus: Doron's photography skills are on point for a guide. Thanks for the great photos.

My wife and daughter were going to meet and fly fish the Mountain Fork River. My daughter had never Fly Fished before and I did not want my wife to just be teaching the whole trip, so we booked a guided trip with Morgan through Beavers Bend Fly Shop.
The whole process was excellent. It was easy to book and Morgan did a fantastic job with my wife and daughter. Morgan put them on fish and they had more success than I could ever imagine them having.
I would highly recommend using a guide, at least once and my wife and daughter said they would highly recommend Morgan.
Thank You Morgan
I will apologize later to my daughter, she had so much fun, I think she is hooked.
